Awww sorry to hear that Becs, sounds like you're having a tough few days. Is OH a bit calmer now and are you ok?
We booked our honeymoon flights last night! I am SO excited
Sun 24-Jun-12 London (LHR) Las Vegas (LAS)
Mon 9-Jul-12 San Francisco (SFO) to New York (JFK) Thu 12-Jul-12 New York (JFK) to London (LHR)
I can't stop thinking about the honeymoon now, lol. But going to have to give it a rest cause we won't be booking hotels for a few months, and we're moving house in 3.5 weeks so really need to get my head down and sort that out. Will hopefully see you on the other side!0 -
Sounds as though we like the same chairs Pernicious as i cant remember what they called either but know they are expensive!
OH told me when he booked DJ that we can do a list of songs and he will play them so thats good, I keep meaning to carry around a note pad so i can write songs down when i hear or think of them. OH has also just told me that he has told DJ that he need certificate by end of the month so at least he is on top of that so its one less thing for me to think about!
I havent designed my save the dates etc either yet, im waiting till i have enough time and energy to do it as have also been extremely busy lately!Married on 16th June 2012. :j0 -
I would try to describe but I don't think I'd do them justice!
Oh that's good, glad your OH is on board! I really need to think of music too, any ideas on how to please everyone?! Our guests are all into completely different things & as much as we & many of our guests would love a rock/metal list I know that is the complete opposite to what other guests would enjoy!
Same here, there's just never enough hours in the day, I tend to post here on my lunchbreak or just before going to bed!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Wow your save the dates sound fab! Do you have a pic? I still haven't designed mine yet, just been so busy lately I need more time!!!
Hope the DJ is good, you could always make a nice list for him of songs that you want to be played? We would like a band but it's so hard to please everyone & they are very expensive so will probably be going down the DJ route, at least you can play a few songs for everyone then.
There was no import tax on the sashes and the covers were from the UK so it was just a drive to collect.
Thanks - I'll get a photo of the Save the Date info when I put the evening details together. We've already got verbal confirmation from a lot of invitees that they're going to be coming along as they've booked hotel rooms, so I'm thinking I might send invites out sooner than Feb.
We're having a ceilidh band and music/vocals in between. I've spoken to the venye and they said we can use their PA system to play background music for the wedding breakfast and then until the band are set up. The band said we can then play whatever music we want through their sound system so I've been using free Spotify to decide on tracks and will purchase a license so we can listen to the music on the day. We're thinking a mix of music, but more of what we like than what anyone else wants (it will be played during dancing breaks anyway). I want to go for a fair bit of tea party style so it will end up sounding a bit like the soundtrack to 'What Women Want'!Getting married: 21/06/12!Current weight loss: 2st!!!0 -
Hello, ordered our wedding rings yesterday, very happy as because we brought 2 we got one half price and they were a good price to start with for what we wanted so altogether cost about £400 less than i'd budgeted for :T
I think we will prob just pick music we mostly like as you cant please everyone and in my experience its a lot of hard work trying to! we do like quite a mix of music though so hopefully there will be at least one song everyone will like. I have heard of people giving guest a slip with the invitations so people can suggest one or 2 songs they would like to hear and send them back with RSVPs.Married on 16th June 2012. :j0 -

Excellent! Sounds like everything is coming together nicelyWhat background music will you play? I still need to get thinking of appropriate music for both the ceremony & afterwards, must get on with this!

Well done on your wedding rings, sounds like quite a bargain! Where did you get them from & what are they like?
It is definitely hard work trying too, but I fear we will alienate a lot of people if we play the music we like, but then I also fear how it will flow if I play things to please everyone, I just can't seem to get it together!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Sounds like everyone is far more organised than us. We are getting our rings in January to give us time to loose some weight first.
My invitations from Vistaprint are delightful as are the RSVP business cards. Really happy with them. Now just need to add the finishing touches and write them.
Finally getting my bridesmaids to all get together and go dress shopping. Hopefully this will be less painful than I envisage it being.0 -
We got the rings from a local jewellers, think they only have one other shop somewhere, OH ring will have 2 lines going round and mine has a bit of a pattern on, i will try put pics on when i see them. im on spilt shifts this week so my aim is to get these invites sorted, think im going to skip save the dates because by the time i've got them sorted and collected addresses i'll need to start sending the invites!
I think if your unsure maybe let the DJ decide most the songs, a good one usually know how to play music to suit all and how to make it flow.Married on 16th June 2012. :j0
