I'd presume that most will wear off eventually regardless of the metal.
I suppose it depends on things like;
If you wear your ring in the shower, when washing up etc. etc. cos it will generally rub it off.❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Guest counting can be scary, ours has increased loads because of pressure from my parents.
Don't even try and keep everyone happy - it's your (you and OH) day not theirs!
I'm busy essay writing and getting ready for going back to work tomorrow, and packing still! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
I'm avoiding doing any work related planning... We were back at school on Thursday and the children are in on Monday. Eeeek! I don't know how to teach them! Lol!
I'm attempting to find hotels for me and my bridesmaids/immediate family to stop in the night before the wedding. It's proving difficult due to the checkout times...❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Poor you. It's VERY difficult keeping everyone happy! I've found it helps being a stubborn cow
Our wedding breakfast list has gone from 50 to nearly 70 and at £100 a head it makes it difficult. I sat down and did the sums and said to my parents and OH's parents that if they wanted extra people above the original 50 they'd have to contribute x amount more so they did. Thing is it's only family really coming along to the ceremony and wedding breakfast, because we can't afford to have friends there due to our families being so big!Getting married: 21/06/12!Current weight loss: 2st!!!0 -
Aww Becca0417, sorry to hear that, im sure things will turn out ok. my weddings costing more than OH originally thought it would be i've been very clever at easing things in so he has excepted it now.
We both have big families to, going to be about 70 for wedding breakfast with friends coming in evening, many of which i'd love to have had there during the whole day but cant afford to either.Married on 16th June 2012. :j0 -

) said she'd rented hers from a woman through Ebay so I took a look on there and just by chance I saw that there were some for sale in cream damask style (I'd seen the same for sale at £7.50 a cover!). It seems that people buy them and then relist afterwards on Ebay. There are loads of sellers doing cover and sash hire starting from 99p a chair as well.
I then got 100 white sashes from China which are perfect - had a practise last week and it looks really good.
Hi Jethro - we're going to do something similar but I don't really know what to put either. If you google it you can find loads of examples of what people have put but it seems to be a bit of a touchy subject with some people.
MILTB called me last night to say she's been speaking to a few people we've invited who said they've been invited to a Royal Wedding next year :rotfl:They've all had their 'Save the Dates' and I'm obsessed with presentation/creativity so they all had to look perfect! The package comprised of 'Save the Date' magnets, a page on local hotels (with buttefly background), a little note about our wedding site (also with same background), and the accomodation info from the venue. Then I bought some gold coloured paperclips and attached everything together, then put a little butterfly cutout under each paperclip. I then folded and tied it all together with a bow and sent off with address labels printed with the butterfly background. Took me ages to do but I was really pleased with myself. Now got to get something similar to evening guests because the hotel needs booking before Christmas to ensure they get rooms.
Thanks for the tip! I will definitely be looking into that - was there an import tax?
Wow your save the dates sound fab! Do you have a pic? I still haven't designed mine yet, just been so busy lately I need more time!!!Well today has been rubbish, got asked to cover at work and do a 8-11 shift, arrived home from work at 17.30!!! so no looking at rings today and its so hard to find a day to go do these things as i work a lot of weekends so bit gutted about that.
gemmzie - we are having a DJ in the evening, its my OH, mates, dad! he's only charging us £100 and OH insisted on getting it booked, i had wanted to look into maybe having a band but oh well, he just better be as good as OH says or there could be a bad start to the marriage! lol. we are however still waiting for him to get one of those test certificate things done so if he doesnt we'll see what happens.
pernicious & unbrafeles - thanks for the advice, i will be having a look on ebay as soon as i have more time and will report back what i find. Shame the type of chairs i like will prob be too expensive to justify spending the money on. I have a thing about chairs, nearly picked a venue just because i liked the chairs! glad we decided against it now though or our wedding would have ended up a lot more expensive than its going to be!
Hope the DJ is good, you could always make a nice list for him of songs that you want to be played? We would like a band but it's so hard to please everyone & they are very expensive so will probably be going down the DJ route, at least you can play a few songs for everyone then.
Hehe I know what you mean about chairs! I can't remember what they're called but there's a certain kind of chair I absolutely love but I don't think we will be having them as they are so pricey!Gutted I didn't look into hiring chair covers from an external company now, but we did negotiate our venue down to 1.90 from 3.50!
That's good negotiating there Becca! Can't believe they were trying to charge £3.50 per chair though...£350 just on covers if you had 100 guests, that's almost as much as my wedding ring & that I get to keep forever!
Hope you're OH has calmed down a bit now, weddings can be quite stressful but it's not fair to take it out on you like thatIt's definitely difficult trying to please everyone, I keep trying to do that & it's driving me mad! I am trying to remember it's OUR day but without being too bridezillaish...& ultimately if it's important to you & your OH you have to do it x

Ah ok, thank you for the tip!
I am quite good & don't wear my ring when doing either of those things because I don't want to damage it, & I think I will do the same with my wedding ring even though it is a tougher metal.spoonymoose wrote: »I'm avoiding doing any work related planning... Can you sweet talk the hotel into letting you change the check out times? At the last wedding I attended the check in time was 2pm, but the wedding started at 2.30pm so we asked if we could use the room from about midday & they were fine with it, worth asking at least!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57
