We are using traditional wording, but my parents have paid for quite a lot, although not as much as us, it would mean the world to them and we're not too bothered. I can see why you would want it that way though, must be a bit annoying!
OH has given into to the sweetie bar idea, is anyone else having one?First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -

Plus his mum is making my dress and paying for the cake so I was a bit annoyed that my mum was questioning the invites. I'd put something similar to what you were thinking. I can see myself being childish over it and starting to take people off the guest list!
Rahven, I feel the same about hen parties. Not really interested in them - I'd rather have a pajama party with cocktails and chicks flicks with some of the girls, than go out and spend money that I'd rather spend on the wedding! My mum also wants us to have a girly day at Eden Hall
The girls at work have said that I've got no choice and they'll be arranging one for me - I've threatened not to attend, because I went to one arranged by them last month where they made the bride-to-be do loads of dares and kiss people which I'm really uncomfortable with.
What I wrote before sounds good to me as it denotes the main host, but also mentions those that have contributed but not in a "taking over" way, if that makes sense lol.
I love the pj party & girly spa day ideas, I'm not really keen on having a tonne of silly dares to be done out in public either, maybe you should mention that to them & see what they come up with? If they want to organise something that's great but they should bear in mind who the hen is! When I organised my friend's hen do I did what she asked with a girly night in with some movies but did a couple of games that although a bit silly & hen like were very tame so she would find it funny & not too embarrassing! We are using traditional wording, but my parents have paid for quite a lot, although not as much as us, it would mean the world to them and we're not too bothered. If my parents were paying for quite a lot too then I'd agree with you, at the moment I am just working on the assumption that £500 is it which I'm very grateful for but I don't see why they should get that honour on the invites if future hubby's parents are paying more.
Ooh I would love a sweetie bar! Don't think we can afford it thoughAre you hiring a sweetie cart or DIYing it?

spoony nice to see you! How are you getting on? Manic end of term?!
I'm good Becca... Not done much in the way of wedding plans tho school is manic!
I'm moving year groups next year into a classroom which hasn't been used for some time so need to revamp it but I can't yet as it's used as a classroom for reading... Also there are no resources there! Grrr! I'm happy but not if that makes sense... 4 weeks to go! Woop!
How's everything for you cos you said you were leaving to start a course?❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Oh and with regards to hen nights... I'm apparently having 3!
1 with my mum, gran, sister and bridesmaids up in Blackpool...
1 down in the Midlands with OH's female family plus my bridesmaids (with my best friend organising it so it'll probably be rude and crude, which one of my bridesmaids is against!)
1 civilised one... Probably tea and scones, dvds, marshmallows, popcorn...organised by my sensible bridesmaid, complete with other bridesmaids
Well that's the plan atm... It'll all change tho! It always does!❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

I'll be teaching Year 2 next year, after teaching Reception for 2 years (I thought I'd hate reception but I really love it now.)
You sound like you're going to have a busy year... Masters, a brand new class and a wedding... You're very brave!
Tho by the sounds of what you've planned so far, you'll be exceptionally organised❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤
