  • Can anyone offer me some advice on invite wording, for day and evening?
I'm making all the invites and plan to print out the inserts, but as we are paying for everything ourselves we don't want the traditional Mr and Mrs *** request the pleasure etc....

Also as an update met with the vicar 2day, so we are definately booked in, just waiting for another couple to set their time so I can set ours!

I only went to one, and felt a bit like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she goes into the boutique and they snub her. They let me try on the dresses but I felt very pressurised, and like they thought they were a lot better than me. Maybe they saw me as a walking pound sign! :p

Just a warning, I bought a book on wedding crafts and it had advice on the wording in there, however I tried that in my test invites and my mum was quite horrified that it didn't say they were hosting. I tried to explain to her that it was because my OH and I were paying for the majority of the wedding and both sets of parents were contributing a smaller equal amount. I don't think she was convinced though - might have to change it to something more traditional that keeps both sets of parents happy since they're contributing towards the cost!

Thanks for the advice but neither sets of parents are giving anything towards the wedding, which is why I'm making everything!

Just found this great website for your invite wording, see link, you put in all your info, eg if it's traditional/simple/unconventional etc, then where you are having the wedding, who's hosting (you can put both sets!), then individual info and it tells you what wording to write, genius!!!

    Hey girls!

It sounds like everyone is well and is having lots of fun planning!

Nothing much to report apart from my sister have bought her bridesmaid shoes which I haven't ok-ed so am slightly annoyed with that especially as she refuses to wear the bridesmaid dresses I've found... Grrrr... Sisters!

Congrats to the girls ordering their dresses and setting their dates :)

Next thing for me is to give notice but that'll have to wait until next month when I'm not at work!
Planned our wedding, still planning lessons
