    hi all,
can you add me in, we're getting married 2nd june, after being together since june 2001 and getting engaged in feb 2010!

I started planning the day after we got engaged and went out trying dresses straight away:D byt still haven' tfound the one.

i booked the venue and the church in the april 2010 and i was on a roll, until kids birthdays came round then christmas and then we were offered a new house that was being built and would be ready in april and just to add t oh lost his job , well rant over, sorry!:o

weve cut the budget right down and now start again to plan and this time we buy, book and ensure we get everything within the tight price asap!!

we still aren't in our new house so all stress to come with that.

we ordered save the date cards a few days ago from vista and a free matching pen!:j
does anyone know of cheap suit hire as we still want to keep all the wedding party men(5) and boys(2) in the same decent suits.

    Hi,

I'm new too and only a few days after you :)

We got engaged, moved house and started planning our wedding all at the same time. You get through it, somehow! We've also been doing up the house whilst planning and paying out for the wedding so money has been a struggle! But I keep thinking after the wedding our house will be finished and lovely and we'll have no wedding to pay for so it will be great!

I'm just arranging some meetings with florists and still trying to decide between two make-up artists!

Hehe yes we are! :D They are definitely a good shop, very helpful staff unlike some other places I have been to.
Firstly we are not 'sit down meal' types or even posh hotel types! We just wanted a small ceremony with close family, then a party for everyone after.
Our plans are to get wed, then go back to one of our parents houses for a little drink, nibble and thanks you's etc, then on to the reception.

I have managed to find a country pub that has a premier inn hotel attatched to it and conference facilities, including a late bar and private courtyard.
It has cost is £205 to hire then we have to order food on top, which was sit down 3 course or buffet. We chose the buffet which is £10.25 per person, although they do have 2 cheaper options starting at £7.75. Oh and we are getting married in the registry office, which comes to a total of £110.50.

We have about 80 guests, including up to 20 kids! and the lady who organises it all said to order buffet for 75% of the guests, we are counting the children as half a person each, so all together it is 70 people which means about £520 for food for 75% of the guests, assuming they all come! Then we are going to chuck a couple of hunderd quid behind the bar and give everyone a raffle ticket or a free drink.

Then obviously we have to decorate the hall and do the cake, OH and I are both going to make the cake together and OH is going to be decorating the hall on the day, with the help of his Mum and Nanna!
Ebay is fantastic for scourcing everything from dresses, to decorations, ballons, people even sell sugarcrafted stuff on there to decorate the cake with!
I bought my dress off there, BNWT for £46 inc delivery.
OH is scottish so he and our boys are going to HAVE to wear kilts, which is pretty expensive, about £200+ just for hire.

We are still not decided on the photogropher front, it's a massive expense, so that one is still up for debate.
As for cars, that one is still up for debate too.

I will be doing my own make up and getting my friend or my Sister to do my hair.
That's it so far, oh and I already have an engagement ring, he did buy me another one that I saw on ebay I liked, but it's far too big and looks too fake lol
We will shop around for wedding bands.

Ah that sounds fabulous for such a small budget, I wish there weren't certain expectations of us because the big sit down meal is such a huge expense! Neither of our parent's houses are big enough for our guests (80ish for the day) either.

I'd personally suggest you do get a photographer, even if you just get a digital copy & make up your own albums as you don't want to spend all that money & not have some pro photos afterwards to remember it by - all my married friends say the day goes past so fast you won't believe it, so it'd be good to have some professional photographic evidence IMO!

    Hi all,

I'm wondering if you can help me. There are two make-up artists I love, both a very similar price. I have been debating between the two for over a week now and really need to pay a deposit to one to secure the date but I'm really struggling. I would really love your opinions on the two ladies I have chosen to help me to make a decision!

    These are the two ladies:

    Lauren Sally - http://www.laurensally.co.uk/
Chic Brides (the first link is to her bridal website and the second is her fashion/editorial site so you can get an idea of her work all round.)

I don't really want to be having trials yet as they are priced at about £50 so I will be shelling out £100 just to decide which one I would like. I think I could trust them both and have a trial nearer the time, I just can't choose which one I would like to go with. One of them would give me a trial now, not sure about the other. I presume if I paid. But like I say, £100 is a lot of money just to make the decision :/

I've bought 3 of my bridesmaids dresses! :D

I'm still having issues with my sister which resulted in an argument... Basically she tried on a dress which would fit after she's dieted, it's not the same as the others but would do and would shut her up (plus it's even cheaper than my other bridesmaids dresses!)

The only problem now she was shoes too cos the dress is cheaper) and she picking out shoes which are a dark beige colour or £110! My shoes cost around £50 in the sale!

Post continued! (It wouldn't fit into one! Lol!)

She won't wear the shoes I've found as she says that straps at the back won't do for her feet, so I've found some today...

from Deichmann and they cost £17.99... http://www.deichmann.com/GB/en/shop/home-ladies/home-ladies-shoes/00009001033923/Ankle Strap Peeptoe Platform.prod?r=5&c=3&filter_brand=all&filter_color=all&filter_heel=all&filter_padding=all&filter_size=all&st=PRODUCT&filter_cat=home-ladies/home-ladies-shoes/home-ladies-shoes-occasions

I did want her to wear these from Next...
