Ooooh I think we'll prob go for purple too! Best colour that will suit BMs(they are all different shapes, sizes, colourings etc.)
I'm alright thanks, you? I seem to be having some time off from organising wedding stuff and concentrating on starting house deposit saving. Still check in most days tho, hehe can't stay away! What's next on your list of stuff to do?0 -
Currently in the process of researching music for the ceremony and drinks after. Emailed a string quartet and they quoted £650 for 2 hours :eek:

Hello girls, I'm back from the most amazing time in Turkey, tho am pretty tired after being up since half two UK time (half 4 Turkish time!)
However, I couldn't resist having a nosey about what's been going on! (Especially as the OH isn't back until 10pm)

They are these ones in ivory : http://www.dune.co.uk/vanilla-strappy-diamante-sandals-prodvanilla00multi/
Ashtray heart, they're my shoes as well! I bought them before Easter and LOVE them... I keep trying them on when the OH is out!

Hi guys!! Very excited but worried b2b here. Only got engaged on Friday. Got the engagement ring yesterday. Would really like to get married in June next year, and know where we would like to have our reception. I'm just betting they're booked already!!! We're going there for Sunday lunch today so going to check whether they have the date we want free otherwise looking at Summer holidays (I'm a teacher). Fingers crossed big time but if it ends up being July/August then that will be fab too.
Other than that done nothing yet, and reading the posts people are sooooooo organised!!!
Got a list of things that need to be done.....got a couple of bridal magazines......and a mother who spent most of yesterday on the internet looking up information!!! As soon as we get venue and church booked going to have to move quickly to sort other things!!
So excited and hope I can post later that I will be staying on this thread!!! :-D:j:j Getting married 28th July 2012 :j:j0 -
Welcome to the thread rach27184! :T
I hope you manage to book the dates you want, I am also a teacher and have opted for the two bank holidays in June (it's the Queen's Jubilee and so there will be a bank holiday Monday and Tuesday! :j)
To be honest I haven't really done much recently... Just waiting for some time together with the OH to decide various things, tho he mum has told him that his dad will pay for the hire of his suit which means he'll get a navy one (which is what I wanted ideally! Lol!)
His mum's also finding out about her daughter's friend, who's a hairdresser, and whether she'll be ok to travel up to our venue and do everyone's hair, although I've also got info from someone who'll do hair, makeup, nails (acrylic) and false eyelashes (including trials of hair and make up) for £75! (You can add extras too, which I might after a conversation with the bridesmaid and then I'll see if I can do a deal for their hair and make up if they want it done.)
Hurray for half term... I'm currently visiting my parents and have been told not to approach the subject of bridesmaid dresses with my sister as "she doesn't want to try anything on until she's lost weight" - I wanna buy bridesmaids dresses ideally no later than December (I want navy and figured it's a wintery colour.)
Oh well, rant (ish) over with! :rotfl:❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

I have exciting news....I bought my dress yesterday! :j
It's not really what I had pictured at all but I just feel so good in it, it's not white or ivory as I've been finding they just make me look very washed out but it still looks bridal compared to the other dresses I have been trying on with a bit of colour! So hard to find the right balance there.
Having said all that, I'm soooo panicky that I will look silly on the big day, I'd never wear a dress like that usually & am scared people won't like it as it's not a traditional colour!
I came in under budget at least, which means we should have a bit more money elsewhere
Now I need to decide what colours work best with it, I had originally wanted purple too & I still think that might be best, but I'm not sure what shade as I was originally after a cadbury purple! I'll show you guys when I get the pics off my friend next week & you can tell me what you think!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Hellloooooo! :hello:
I've been MIA the last few weeks, have had lots of unexpected goings on so haven't had time to fart let alone plan a wedding! :rotfl:
My OH is slightly driving me mad! He keeps coming up with all these lovely ideas, meaning that I, the most undecisive person ever, is now contemplating getting married in Cyprus!
Basically the family were talking about going on a big family holiday this time next year, hiring out a villa with it's own pool and booking the flights seperately. There will be my parents, his parents and grandparents, his brother and our children.
Soooooooo, OH said, why don't we incorporate getting married into the big family holiday, I actually love that idea.
We would book for 2 weeks, get married after the first then spend the rest of the holiday as a married couple! I did suggest that the 2 of us spend our wedding night away somewhere other than the villa
Now I have got to trawl the net for info on getting married over there! wish me luck!0
