Hi all. I've not posted for a while but we *might* have found our venue! We're looking to book on a Monday in June 2012 so that's 4, 11, 18, 25th June 2012.

This may sound silly but my Mum mentioned that the olympics are starting that month and may need to take that into account and it made me wonder if anyone else knew of any dates major things are happening on in June 2012 that we may want to avoid, or even piggyback onto! At the moment the only thing swaying our choice is the hope of better weather chances towards the end of the month.

    Cheers!
  • Olympics don't start until 27 July but Euro 2012 starts on 8th June. I know England are group G and will qualify, Wales I don't think will - you can check dates matches are being played here: http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Publications/competitions/Publications/01/54/34/12/1543412_DOWNLOAD.pdf

Phew, 30th June is a "rest day" - so no need to worry about anyone constantly checking scores!

We've decided on a photographer as well now, just need to send the deposit off this week :D Very exciting!

I went dress shopping this weekend but didn't get "this is THE dress" feeling from any of them...is that a myth? What is everyone else's dress shopping experience so far? x

    We're hoping we've avoided everything!

Pern, I didn't get that feeling at all, until I actually found my dress. So keep looking!

I have just looked at the schedule for Euro 2012 and our wedding is on the same day as the quarter finals.

Although I very much doubt England will get that far and if they do H2B will have to sort something out as everyone on his side are big footy fans and it was his choice to have it on that day.:(

I changed our date because it clashed with the football and I didn't want the hassle, hope you get something sorted! :)

Got a little question, our venue (which is an italian restaurant) have asked for £20 per person up front for the wedding breakfast, now it's only costing approx. £33 per person altogether including drinks and the service charge, so this seems like a huge amount to me? Plus it's non-refundable. Is this the norm, to ask for so much upfront?
