Right... bit of a more cheerful day.

The lady for the catering is going to try and get cover so she can do our wedding... may try and haggle a bit of money off for the inconvenience... but to be honest, I'll just be relieved if she can do it!!!

Went looking for bridesmaid dresses today. Found some lovely ones in Debenhams, and have come home and ordered them.
£85 each, which is over our £50 each budget. However, 1 of the bridesmaids is refusing to let us pay!! So we only have to pay for one! And we used a discount code so got 15% off! Happy days!!

Feel like things might be getting there. and as it's afternoon tea our food, if we can't get a caterer, at the end of the day there's always Tesco sandwiches and pies! :)

    Trying not to panic!

  • I've finally sorted the hair and make up problem out! I paid the deposit last night and have everything in writing (well email, along with conversations of individual prices.) So that's one less stress! :D Also booked my trial (and to make things even better, she's coming down to me rather than me having to travel, which is especially hard as I don't drive) and my bridesmaids will be around for the trial so we can discuss hair styles etc. Woop!

RSVPs are coming in slowly but surely... Part of OH's family called us to say they were coming, but I'd still prefer the RSVP so I might get OH's mum to sort that out.

Ooooh, my Google app is telling me that I get married in 99 days! Eeeek! Where has the time gone?

My lovely bridesmaid is currently sorting out my hen night, tho my mum, gran and sister have said that they will not be travelling to Birmingham for it :( which means I'll have to travel up to them to do something with them.

My dress is due in the shops in mid-March, with my first fitting in April (hopefully when my bridesmaids are around.)

Oh, and my sister is doing the whole "I don't want to be a bridesmaid" thing to my mum (again) and I'm refusing to ring her as I don't wanna have the same conversation again! I'm just acting as tho she isn't a bridesmaid as it'll be easier.

Hope everyone else is well and getting on with things! Easter hols is when it'll all start as then we have things to pay!
Planned our wedding, still planning lessons

Glad to hear it Ellie - what a worry that must have been this week!

I am fuming, I keep wondering why so many guests have been so rude not sending back RSVPs, well turns out that OH didn't even post them

Ooh yes please that would be a massive help! I am going to look at the Works tomorrow on my lunchbreak & hope they have that deal on :)

Gemmzie - Ooh dear...I hope he has a good excuse at the ready!
Ellie - Yay!! Nice one, now you can concentrate on other things.
Spoony - Not read your bridezilla thread but will try & find it in a mo...sounds like your sister is being a right mare! Mine are less supportive than I had hoped but I'm at least not getting that much of a problem! I count myself very lucky all of a sudden. Hope you manage to work it out.
Fawny - Thanks I'll bear that in mind :)

No, he just forgot. I'm really so upset, embarrassed and angry, it's like the whole thing isn't important to him :(

*hugs Gemm* have you told him how you feel?
Spoony - your sister is a right one isn't she?! What is it about weddings that makes people regress to childhood?

Well our invites are now all sent *relieved airpunch* so we're waiting for RSVPs. We need to have a meeting with the venue next month and have to work out of order of the day before that so have started trying to draft it. It's hard though!
Also been looking at what we want during the service - hadn't even thought about readings etc, and not sure we really want them. Would it be boring not to have any? I'm not particularly bothered about the ceremony, just want to be married then have a big party!

I've tried but he thinks they are his guests so he can just ask them. But then he's the one who spent hours over the invites, I don't get men sometimes!

Gem how annoying!!!! I'd feel exactly the same...hope you are OK.

Pern PM me your address and I'll send the seeds :)

Hi Rahven - glad your invites have gone out. I reckon if you don't want readings, don't have them!! We're only having 2 as we really like them so if you don't, then don't! I've been to a couple of weddings without readings and can't say they are missed. x
