But if you have a legitimate over charge it doesnt matter. Personally i RNR because i have been overcharged on an item or items i have purchased, not to become best pals with Mr/Mrs CSA.

Very sorry if this has already been answered - but the thread is now soooo long it would take forever to find!

Can I return items to Tesco without a receipt and exchange them?

Basically, I have got R&R on a few books and CDs that I don't want to keep. Obviously I can't now return them with the receipt, but as they all have Tesco price stickers on I wondered if I could just go to customer services and ask to exchange them and then get items that I do want?

I know it sounds a bit cheeky, but I think there may be other 'cheeky' people reading this who may have tried such a thing.

Depends on who serves you... I did this yesterday with Psp games and CS was very nice and let me exchange for PS2 games. Ive been to 4 different stores where 2 have let me and 2 havent..

Little tip is put the items you want to exchange in a Tesco carrier bag so it adds a little more to the "I've had these as a pressie but not really interested"...every little helps!

Totally agree put item in Tesco carrier bag.

Ive had 100% exchange rate. Some times my children go in & even they havent been refused, I find that this is one thing Tesco are very good at doing.

This is not just on games but also books etc

Does R&R apply to petrol? I just filled up with 42 litres of fuel and handed over a 5p off a litre and was only given £1.80 off as the cashier had calculated the discount on the £ rather than the litre. I returned and was given 30p. I asked if R&R did not apply to fuel and the lady looked at me as if I had to heads, when I said, as I have been overcharged should I not get a full refund?. No she said you have not been overcharged we just made a mistake! and no its differant with fuel!

Not sure as they did not make a mistake on the fuel but on the token you gave to get discount, you could suggest they gave you a further discount token as a gesture of goodwill for having to return there to correct their mistake?
Others may know the law a bit better than I.
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.

    24 DVD box sets

    Season 1 £26.97
    Seasons 2 -4 £29.97
    Season 5 £24.97

    All scan correctly

Can someone confirm that these prices are correct as I noticed season 5 in Tesco today but it was priced nearer £50. £24.97 would be an excellant buy. My son wants this for his birthday.
