Just back from a trip to Walkden and no R & R to be seen anywhere. Hopefully better luck next time. Might give Bury or Horwich a go.0

Sounds to me like it should have been an R&R but you were right not to push it for such a small amount - because that would "raise your profile" and they might remember you if in the future you try for a free mobile phone or TV!0 -

I will be doing this at the first available opportunity as Tesco gets away with far too much.
It is only thanks to this site that i decided for the first time ever to write down the prices of everything i was buying yesterday. Usually i just trust that they are charging me what they say they are. I check the receipt that they havent scanned something twice and that BOGOFs have come off etc but i certainly couldnt remember the prices of everything i was buying so just took it on trust that everything was ok. Well i wont be doing that again! I wonder how many times in the past that i have been overcharged.0 -

I dont really subscribe to this keeping a low profile theory. Surely if CS know you are familiar with the policy and the ins and outs they are less likely to try and fob you off the next time. After all i'm sure i read on here that it had been proven that the average trolley in tescos is overcharged by 3% - all it does is show that you check your receipts with a fine tooth comb.
Or are single store bannings quite common?TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -

I think that is a great idea making a note of each price, that way if you do go to CS to question it, they can see you have checked the whole receipt and not just targetted specific items. Its something i have suggested the to the wife to do.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -

The problem is that it takes SOOOOOOOOOO long to do this. I take so long in the supermarket anyway (husband gets a bit bad tempered) so i dont think i can do this on every shop but i reckon if you were to do this and add it all up as you were going along you'd be tempted to spend a lot less.
Thank you to everyone that replied.0 -
Very sorry if this has already been answered - but the thread is now soooo long it would take forever to find!
Can I return items to Tesco without a receipt and exchange them?
Basically, I have got R&R on a few books and CDs that I don't want to keep. Obviously I can't now return them with the receipt, but as they all have Tesco price stickers on I wondered if I could just go to customer services and ask to exchange them and then get items that I do want?
I know it sounds a bit cheeky, but I think there may be other 'cheeky' people reading this who may have tried such a thing.0 -

I don't think they would swap cds unless they are wrapped but they should except the books. Obviously take them back to a different store and just say you lost the receipt, they can only say no.0
