  • Hi, has anyone had any experience of this? I bought some pork the other day - SEL £3.95 / kg, but £3.96 on pkt. When I took it to customer services they said that because the price / lb was correct on both labels, even though the price / kg was out, then no rnr.
I actually wasn't looking for mis-prices at the time, and wanted the pork, so no skin off my nose, but just wondered if anyone else had encountered the same thing and if what CS said was correct?

you should get the cd's refunded if they have the sticker on the front
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.

I would imagine if the prices were the other way around i.e. the kg was correct then Tescos would potentially be correct however as we are part of the great EU now the law states the prices must be displayed in kg. then they are wrong.

I thought it was now illegal to sell anything based on the price per lb?

I don't see how that is possible, if the price per kilo is out by 1p the price per pound should be out by 2.2p. You defo, had an r&r there as the packet was more expensive than the SEL.
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.
  • My God...here's a film made by "bored Tesco Staff". You should watch it - it's amazing what they get up to (including messing about with the stock, etc):

    Anyone recognise the store?:p

This is obviously why the pricing is incorrect...they've got better things to do, like making little movies on their camera phones.

    I like the new ad:

This is what Frequent has really been doing in Tesco:

This last one's just brilliant. Well made, well produced, funny and with an excellent underlying message:

Mikey - I think you've got it the wrong way round ! Out by 1p per KG equates to out by 1/2p per lb. And we no longer have 1/2p's.

I know that overcharges of even 1p are still overcharges but personally I'm not comfortable with going for R & R's on penny per kilo errors on meat - it just seems too over the top and likely to rub the CS's staff totally up the wrong way. Its all down to personal feelings but, so long as most CS staff are being reasonable and fair about my refunds, I prefer to keep things smooth. I don't want anyone saying - 'here comes that B***** woman again who moaned about a penny a kilo overcharge on a £12 joint last week!'.
