Thanks but I have already tried quoting the law, and it is one of the managers that i have ended up dealing with. She agrees it is misleading which is why they gave the 'goodwill' gesture but she is adamant it is not an overcharge! Tried to convince her that there is no goodwill in charging what the law says you should, but she maintained there was before moving into automaton mode. This one goes down to experience I feel:mad:

Nice one was beginning to worry as I've only used about 15 of the 20 sainsburys mags. Wouldn't want to be out of pocket on the remaining five. Think I'll invite the mother in law for tea on Wednesday............we're having steak. LOL

What item(s) were you trying to get an R&R on?

This is my first ever post so if i have put it in the wrong place or if i am asking something really stupid then sorry.

I wanted some mars bars yesterday and in my local tesco they had packets of 6 with a SEL of £1.14 and also packets of 6 with 2 free which had no SEL. So i picked up the packet with 2 free thinking it would be the same price as the other 6 pack. After getting my receipt i saw that i'd been charged £1.28 so off i trotted to CS.

The woman at CS went to check but came back telling me the barcode was different. I said that they should be the same price as the other 6 pack as otherwise you are not getting 2 free. She said that this was a manufacturer promotion so they wouldnt be the same price and i tried to argue that they should be but i was in a hurry so i didnt want to push it especially as i wasnt sure whether i was right or not about being able to have an R&R for this.

Please could someone tell me whether this should have been an R&R?

Yes it should. Next time ask to speak to her senior if you really want to take it further. If you look back into the previous mispirce discussion thread you'll find a similar thing happened with kp peanuts.

this is when tecos keep putting prices up and down to think you have got a better deal they are always doing it i believe its a definate r+r

Thank you. Do you know if there is anything i can do about it now. I kept the receipt and hopefully my husband wont have eaten any yet!

keep the wrapper and go back to cs should be someone else there try that person

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds to me like it should have been an R&R but you were right not to push it for such a small amount - because that would "raise your profile" and they might remember you if in the future you try for a free mobile phone or TV!
