I pity the R&Rer local to their stores!

Monster_Deals wrote:Each of the 4 coupons in the November issue of the free Asda Magazine will save you money at Tesco. One page from the back.
The 30p one scans at £1.28
The 25p one scans at £1.43
The £1.50 one scans at £1.50
The 50p one scans at £3.98
The 50 pence (uniball one) scans at £4.50 - bottom of approximately page 56, before the Jordan and her comic breasts section.
Cut the top left corner off of each voucher (removing the large ASDA logo) as some Tesco staff will not take ASDA vouchers.
Pick a dumb looking very young/new checkout operator and you will have no problems.
Have to say that RnR is legal - it's their policy so they should honour it.
However;
Surely this is just disguised stealing - afterall you advocate removing the asda logo so you obviously realise that you're doing wrong so to speak and that Tesco try not to take these vouchers. By picking on the newbie you risk him getting hauled over the coals and maybe losing his job , all so you can get some free stuff. The ethics of using these coupons has been done to death on another board but by bringing it over here you are alerting a much wider audience and increasing the risk for the badly paid newbie on the checkout!
Coupon use is a priveledge, lots of people out there depend on being able to use one or two regularly and actions like this may result in that priveledge being withdrawn or severly curtailed.
By the way you can reply that the Tesco can afford it, that the fat cats of capitalism have it coming to them but that doesn't help the poor Cs you've got into trouble does it?0 -

If so, they have been told by head office to take the sign down, if not, you should contact HO and make a complaint, the guy my OH spoke to at HO said "thats ridiculous" about a 1 item "bulk buy" policy.
Have just spoken to HO. The Bulk buy policy limiting to one is not a general policy (It applies in ceratin very limited circumstances) and certainly does not apply to their R&R policy.
The Duty manager is about to get a phonecall to appraise him of this (in mind, at least)new and startling information.

Swindon - you're not trying hard enough! I picked up Stormbreaker there yesterday for my kid.
Here's a tip for poster mis-prices.
Often the poster with the mis-price is not close to the actual stack of DVDs -
So for Swindon - Stormbreaker is stacked to the far left of the DVD display - the poster is roughly in the middle.
The trick is to relocate the front-facing DVDs under the poster and replace these with copes of the mis-priced DVD.
Then after talking to CS accompany them to the DVD area and point out the mis-priced poster.
It's so simple - but it works almost every time.

I think I foudn why I never get mis prices in swindon, you must be beating me to them all, Last decent one I had was the DS games, Nice to see the scanner in the entertainment section is working again though as it was a pain taking things half way down the storeDebt Free Marathon: Start 01/06/09 £16714 - Current Position £14514 - Finish Line Xmas 20100 -

Well done, you just need to go in now and collect your free bottle! :rotfl: Try not to grin at them though!0 -
I went to tesco last night (to do my normal shopping) and saw loads of books with 1p less on the sticker price than the SEL. Great. Only the scanner is unplugged/blocked behind a display in that store, so I tried to run the books through the self-scan tills only apparently book barcodes dont scan on the self-scan tills (was coming up with "£0.00 Error: no coupon use after this transaction" or something)...is this right?
Is this some new tactic so that the checkout staff inputs manually the price on the sticker? Do you reackon they would have scanned at the higher price?
The books were by Jeremy Clarkson's & Jamie Oliver (cant remember titles).0 -

I think all the hardback books are now scanning at £x.96, though some stores have left up the £x.97 SELs.0 -

Does anyone have any idea how much the FEAR XBox 360 game is scanning at? It was the only Xbox game priced at £37.99 in my Tesco last night and there is no scanner to check the price. I had just done a big batch of returns, so didn't want to take the chance.
Also, there were GBA games on two different displays. On one display all the games had yellow stickers "2 for £30 or £19.XX each" (or something similar). On the other display some games had these stickers and some didn't.
Charlie and the Choc. factory £14.XX
Koala Brothers £12.XX
Star Wars ...Falcon.. (not lego one) - can't remember price.
There is a sign stating that only games with the sticker are included in the offer, but I was wondering whether anyone knew if the three games above perhaps should be in the offer, but had not been stickered. If this was the case they might scan at £19.99 if bought individually.
I am interested as I have 3 young boys each with GBAs and have been on the look out for misprices on these for ages.0
