honey06 wrote:went to my local yesterday evening, and picked up 2 legs of lamb SEL £6.69, charged £6.69kg. CS went off and returned to say that the customer services manager refused he refund as i had R&R couple of weeks ago on large quantity of meat and i was taking advantage of the policy.
At this point i would have suggested that they hadnt cleanedup thier act over charging customers (in aloud voice) and this is illegal! i wonder ho many other customers you have overcharged illegally and they didnt know hmm what as TS's number?!
despite reading everyones posts and advice, it all went to pot at this point, as i asked for my receipt back and they couldnt find it
,
unbelievable and disgraceful all done to flummux you no doubt.
and refunded my shopping instead. They said they will be following this up with HO and demanded my name and details
I would have told them to ring HO there and then.
(again i panicked nd didnt give my real details). i feel such an idiot that they managed to get me flummoxed by losing my receipt, and have been kicking myself for not asking for the store manager or ringing HO there and then myself. now havent got anything to go on
any advice or should i just give them a wide berth for a while??
I haven't had chance to read back through the thread so apologies if already posted.
I went to RICOH @ Coventry yesterday. I noticed that on alot of the meat packs (where a yellow SEL offered a discount per kg) where the old price per KG was showing on the pack a yellow barcoded sticker had been placed on the pack with the new price per KG.
So for this store, it looks like this means it could be the end of the meat r&r's.0 -

That bulk buy policy, not ipswich by any chance was it? (Copdock)
No Dungannon
You should ask if thats in one transaction, if it is, go in and buy 50 sprouts one at a time (or something like that) then go get them all refunded at the CS desk!
That was my next plan!!0 -
If there is a bulk buy in place then they shouldnt even let you buy more then one for starters. There fault, they should have stopped you at the checkout and said soemthing then.
Sprout idea sounds great!!0 -

Does that put me in a minority? Dunno. But does suggest it is not a corporate dictate.
But would it be fair to say that your store's losses are significantly reduced because of your out of hours activities?
They are not going to put pressure on the stores who have it under control.0 -

not necessarily many stores put the new disdount offer yellow SEL's out and then change the indivual sticker prices on the meat,
I have seen them print new prices out while standing at the meat counter it is just a matter of getting there early & beating them to it0 -

I wouldnt count on it, chances are you could go back tomorrow and find something, they may have had a blitz on it for a while, give it a week or so and they will probably lapse.
They may have been hit for a few high value R&Rs on meat in that store, give them a while to forget about it!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

This is what they are supposed to do - some stores are better at remembering to do it than others. Don't worry, just try for different ones in that store - they'll never get it 100% right (unless you just happen to shop where Constantine or Spa2K work  )0 -
Can you imagine a member of CS staff running out the store after you saying "Stop, stop you've bought more than one tin of beans!!!"
Neither can I
If they are happy to sell you more than one item at the checkout, they should honor the policy on all of them. I'm pretty sure head office will say the same! (if you speak to them, not the CS/manager)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
