Hey_Dude wrote:When I was refused an R&R once I politely took the names of all staff involved and advised the Store Manager that I would be taking photographic evidence.
I then neatly arranged all of the offending SELs and POS material on the CS desk and took a couple of snaps.
I wouldn't recommend taking pre-meditated photography and presenting this at the CS desk when you claim R&R.

Yep - this was the PSP console plus Tekken, which I posted on the mis-price thread after I got home from the shop and talking to Head Office.
The manager was trying to say that a PSP base pack wasn't a 'console' - whereas another Tesco employee kept interjecting with phrases like "he's (me) right".
If memory serves I made a quick call to Head Office - who in turn called the store - then called me back and told me to go back and get my R&R - it was all sorted out very quickly and politely.
It's only one of two times that I have used photography - they key is asking for permission in as much as advising the Tesco staff what your intentions are.

Hey_Dude wrote:Hey Tax, are you a Sinn Fein Councillor?
But are you serious man?
For Pete's sake it's only R&R - I seem to recall that your current problems stem from a wild frenzy of bulk buying of mis-priced goods - a complaint to Head Office - who have clocked you as a serial R&Rer - and perhaps unsurprisingly given you a slap!
Each to their own - always - but how on earth can a premeditated R&Rer claim 'defamation of character'.
And 'damages'......

PS Still - I like your style man.
A number of vigilante staff pushed the intimidation tactics too far... demanding my name and address, telling me I was doing something fraudulent/dishonest, that I was akin to a shoplifter, my profile would be "circulated" around the company, etc.
I don't like the way these allegations are bandied about so casually and flippantly, particularly when those making the allegations are themselves culpable of multiple criminal offences but are too blind or arrogant to see this.0 -
on another thread.tesco shopper suggested placing his potential r&r items on a separate bill. Friend.........Dont do that !!!!
I placed 9 items on separate bill all overcharged as I suspected.( my main bill being about £80). I went for a coffee as tesco take 30 mins or more to go around store checking even 1 complaint.......They did not come and get me so I went back to cs desk,.....where security man threatened to call police and banned me from store as a "professional scammer ". I asked for manager whom I offered to show them more errors in store but they did not want to know. I said you are hiding your illegal breaches of the consumer protection act 1987. The manager and security men surrounded me and still did not want to acknowledge.......they implied i was effectively the same as a shoplifter.
Yes I am suing them... thankfully I am legally trained and veteran proscutor over my past 30 yrs in business. Suggest you take photos of each sel, ( just in case you get refused r&r at c/s desk), as I do, and often hold the days newspaper up to shelf , especially as proof of an o.o.d. sel still up.0 -
Pound wrote:I noticed that in the misprice thread some people post Asda coupons which apparantly let you have money off in Tesco as well, sometimes a lot more than Asda. Why would Asda coupons work in Tesco?
The coupon they are talking about is a non store specific coupon that has been printed in the Asda in-store magazine. And there is a glitch on it because the face value is for 50p and it takes £4.** off at the till. So people are using these mainly a self-service checkouts so it does not get scrutinised to much!DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -

I agree. Obviously if you have a problem dealing with c/s at store.,go directly thro H/O, and if still no joy, respond to H/O with your photos if needed and suggest you went around store AFTER you went thro till........quite frankly taking photos on your cellphone is not premeditated, coz we dont 100% know if it is an overcharge  until after going thro till ( point of sale). By the time you been to c/s desk they will of removed them anyhow.as they often do when they returnand say "No....the sel was correct". and do you really want to walk around the store again taking picks........besides they may of banned you by then,........:rotfl:0 -

But at the end of the day anyone who goes for a pre-meditated R&R is - from a Tesco point of view - abusing the Price Promise - albeit acting within the law.
The tricky thing from the Tesco point of view is proving this.
But that said most of us on this thread all do it.
Problems occur - like yours - when you bulk-buy, get sussed locally, throw a teddy at Head Office, get sussed nationally etc etc.
Anyone who goes for a known R&R opportunity always carries a risk of being identified as a serial R&Rer - the trick is to reduce that risk.
If you step back from the legalities and try and look at this from a Tesco stand-point - or perhaps get really peervy and imagine you run a Tesco store as a Manager.
If someone was repeatedly taking you to task on the Price Promise - getting your stock for free - approaching your staff with bulk buys of mis-priced goods - what are you going to do??
Offer your sister as well....or perhaps tell this individual that they are not welcome at your store.
The latter I suspect.
My fear Tax is that newbies read your posts and think that this is what happens when you R&R.....
....but the truth is this is what happens when you take the Michael with R&R and refuse to accept the consequences of your actions.
R&R is here for the long-term - anyone who wants to play the game for the long-run needs to shop accordingly - and you need to know when to walk away - even if you feel hard done by.
I do understand how you feel - Budda knows that back in March when a store did me up like a kipper over a PSP Giga Pack I was unhappy - ultimately I moved on - perhaps you will too....eventually
Take her easy,

Do you know which issue of the Asda magazine the coupon is in? I got the November isssue in the store yesterday. The coupons are on the last page but they are Asda ones (not non store specific). I know Tesco will accept them too.0 -
