Ipso facto, if security camera footage does not purport to represent Real Life....?
Next logical step: Collapse of Mr T's allegations concerning Plushchris and others?

Well the fact that scanning items before purchase was mentioned means that we all need to be careful doing this in a store where we have a high profile. To look for you on the security tapes scanning items on previous occasions would take forever. I would think that you are most likely to be noticed doing this in a store where they all ready are monitoring you.0

Hey Tax, are you a Sinn Fein Councillor?
But are you serious man?
For Pete's sake it's only R&R - I seem to recall that your current problems stem from a wild frenzy of bulk buying of mis-priced goods - a complaint to Head Office - who have clocked you as a serial R&Rer - and perhaps unsurprisingly given you a slap!
Each to their own - always - but how on earth can a premeditated R&Rer claim 'defamation of character'.
And 'damages'......

PS Still - I like your style man.0 -
i dont see any issues with scanning items
If it scans at a higher price - result
Tesco are breaking the law by charging the higher price, you are not by finding these items - They are the criminals not you:idea: £2051.50 since Oct 25 2006Make mine a Golden £143.46

I'm happier knowing that less pensioners have been duped by misleading pricing, even though it makes for less R&R opportunities - although you wouldn't think so reading these forums!
And you wouldn't think so walking around Tesco stores....

The problem with scanning items before paying and claiming r&r (I do this quite often though ; but will not now in stores where I think I have been sussed) ) is that if you get clocked doing it, Tesco will make r&ring difficult for you. Personally I would like to r&r as much as possible without drawing too much attention to myself as a deliberate r&rer. Why make life and r&r more difficult for yourself.0 -

Didn't try it, and the aisle scanner didn't work. Could it be a potential R&R? (I wasn't reading these threads in Aug/Sep so don't know what the last Xbox fiasco was all about)
The first XBOX War was simple - for about 3 weeks Tesco were selling the console and a selected 'Game of the Week' with a advert 'Save £20' - the £20 didn't come off - a straight-forward mis-price.
However, many stores refused to R&R given that you were looking at big refunds of £340...
So Head Office set up a team to look at the various R&R claims - they settled the vast majority....
....but they also identified some serial R&Rers and gave them some grief.
Here endeth the lesson.

In a store where they do not know you by all means use the price check scanners, in a store where you feel you are overstepping your welcome watch the item being scanned and if its cheaper simply say can I leave that. Obviously price checking items everyday whilst being watched or leaving masses of items everyday at the checkouts will get you noticed. You should spread your r&rs around, if you like the xbox games and electricals these will get you noticed by cs quicker but again just spread it around and only go for the ones that are worth it. Yes, Tescos are in the wrong by overcharging and then trying to back out of their policy but if you want to play the long game play it clever. This just my opinion and I don't always follow my own advice :rotfl: .0 -
MarineBoy wrote:In anything like this, I think we're just as interested in the practical legality of how to overcome this potential obstacle - e.g. by getting away with taking photos regardless - as we are in the letter of the law.[/I][/B]
When I was refused an R&R once I politely took the names of all staff involved and advised the Store Manager that I would be taking photographic evidence.
I then neatly arranged all of the offending SELs and POS material on the CS desk and took a couple of snaps.
I wouldn't recommend taking pre-meditated photography and presenting this at the CS desk when you claim R&R.
