Leadhead, that post is over a week old and I have toned down.

By all means report it to abuse and if it gets deleted then we will both know where the line is, but unless you test you won't find out.

Been away for 5 days or so, came back with the task of catching up on far too many posts, and found I was reading similar crap to that I posted about before I went away........

I broke my own rules of "not posting before catching up"....only to surprisingly find, no more posts on the subject.....so you have my apologies..........apologies that is, for my complaining to "abuse"...........but not for complaining about the content, or the frequency of it.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Just saw this on Newsnight - where they preview the next day's papers.
The Financial Times has a mini-headline in the banner saying 'Tesco is watching you'. Can't make out the detail, but one to watch out for tomorrow.
That will be this one I think

Have been with these threads for quite a while now, but not really sure why people keep going on about reporting to Trading Standards?

What for? I am quite happy to continue R&Ring....
Certainly there have been occasions in the past, where R&R has been refused with the assertion that a misprice has not actually occurred. Classic case is where they put £6 on a large SEL for bag of meat when the bag of meat actually cost £12 because what they meant to say was £6 per kg, and the bag weighed 2 kilos.

Yes it was a good 'cash cow' until for me, one too many CS refused to accept that it was a misprice, and so you won't see much of that happening any more - because TS have banged a few Tesco heads together. I'm happier knowing that less pensioners have been duped by misleading pricing, even though it makes for less R&R opportunities - although you wouldn't think so reading these forums!
    This too, shall pass.

Thanks, but is there any kind of legal reference you can quote for that? After all, it seems a bit unfair that every one of our moves is monitored by CCTV upon entering the store. Plus, we're not talking about pictures of members of the public or staff here - just items and their labels. In any case, I wonder if we could easily get permission from HO for photography?

If you're right, as an alternative, maybe a member of staff could tell us what happens to the 'old' labels. I have been told before that they get 'chucked in the bin'. Is that true - or is there a place where old labels have to be strategically archived - for the purposes of resolving just this kind of query?

Remember, boys and girls - Real Life is not like the movies.

    Agreed.
The facial image would have to be matched up with the card. you'd have to be photographed at the same time as you made the transaction. As it then becomes part of your record you'd be able to check via DPA. No doubt it is or soon will be technically possible but why would they do it? Any system this sophisticated would cost a fortune - just to catch a few people who 'manipulate' the R&R policy, I think not.

Its private property. In just the same way as any other retail outlet is. Or your house is. No, I doubt you would easily get permission.

Yes its true. Mine tend to end up in my pocket until I get home and have to empty them out.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

Sorry, but If anyone thinks that T have been handing out free money through the Clubcard scheme they've not been in the real world.
But, is it really that bad? I buy certain items from my corner shop. The guy there knows his business, knows my buying habits, makes sure his stock levels are appropriate to the demand and promotes new things to me he thinks I might be interested in.
Same principle as the card - just a different scale, and sightly less scary:)

I think I will be requesting a data search after the meeting, just to see exactly what they have on me, have you done this then?

This is officially known as a "Subject Access Request" under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Mariah Carey No.1's CD yellow sticker £4.96, rest of stock stickered to match SEL at under £10 (forgot exact price), went through till at £13.29. Full RnR.

Was this the 2CD greatest hits album stickered at £9.77?

I tried scanning a couple of CDs on the scanner in the aisles but it said "please contact a member of staff" after I'd scanned each one.

But what can you do to someone when you discover they take a picture?

VERY LITTLE (practically nothing in this situation).
