Left a southwestish tesco about 20 minutes ago that had the display and boxes required for the r&r un-tampered with. I didn't go for it due to the fact that my profile is a little high now, and I don't really think its a true overcharge, but each to there own, so on a 1st come, 1st serv basis I'll PM you the location.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

spent a considerable sum this evening including an expensive mobile. the £20 discount was not deducted so I thought wow! free phone.
nope. offered £20 back. protested, asked for duty manager. duty manager said the policy says if the price does not match the shelf label or price on product a full refund can be given. but this was apparently a till operator error and does not count as i was charged the price on the shelf label. asked them to call head office but it was closed. the saga continues tomorrow but i was kept waiting an hour and will have to go back again.
right now tesco are not my favourite supermarket (might change tomorrow though!)
who right? me or them?
(be gentle - first post!)
Welcome Rich,
You are in the right, the price does not match the offer on the 3 foot sign above the phones though does it. I would be phoning tomorrow and asking for the store manager, after that then go to HO. The lower profile you can keeo the better. You never know when your Sony Bravia is just around the cornerWe took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -
with the phone situation it says £20 off selected phones i know the big sign above says £20 off with £40 shopping bill but on the display it says £20 off selected phones which are the selected ones? there is one which has the white sel but wont show a discount but others with yello sels show discount.
is the white one not included in this offer?
not too sure what it is but its w801 or something like that
priced at £119.xx
thx0 -
I pointed to the self within metres of the customer service desk showing the £20 off this phone if you spend £40 sign but they wouldn't budge. they said i had been charged the price on the shelf label and that was in line with policy.
very angry.0 -

Regardless of the outcome you get tomorrow, give your local trading standards a ring and let them know the situation. They probably wont be a lot of help but the more complaints they have against Tescos the better IMO.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

exactly the same thing happened to me, only I phoned HO in the store and they backed up the manager who was playing the "till operator error" card.
That was yesterday.
Since then I've had 14 xbox games to make up for it..
good luck tomorrow0
