RIP the Dog.0

Definitely not. I don't keep meat beyond three days even when refrigerated. However, if you've got any local foxes, they'll probably be quite happy to relieve you of your remains. They seem to eat virtually anything.0

i wouldn't eat it. but then i wouldn't eat lamb on the next day. lamb and pork are the two meats i'd never reheat . but thats me personally.
Why not? Lamb and pork are safe to re-heat like most other meat. Do you throw the left-overs in the bin? I would deffo bin 9 day old lamb but not if it was 2 or 3 days old.Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -
the dog has eaten it....
we still have yesterdays leftover lamb to use up - but i will get it off bone and put in freezer this time...
last week we had one shepherds pie from the leftovers and then the rest was put in a tupperware box in fridge... DH has some sandwiches from it, before it got forgotten about...
aghgh - we are not usually this disorganised...although we do get a bit "lambed out" at this time of year as we have 3 in the freezer....
and another 30 hopefully pregnant in the field..
anyway i will let you know how the dog goes on.... she is 11 next week and is usually ok with most things - a very robust springer spaniel..

 My old dog got hold of a plate of lamb in the kitchen... Diarrohea lasted 24 hours and was absolutely everywhere on the kitchen floor. Disgusting. I was nearly vomiting. Took the kids out and waited for (ex) oh to get home and clean it up.... Never ever again!!!!
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
I bought a cherry pie, fresh one use by 7th November which could be frozen for one month i.e 7th December - OH said it was okay to eat. It is in the oven would you eat it? Is it safe? All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0

Hi jazzyjustlaw,Food cannot go 'off' if it's been kept frozen, it can only deteriorate in quality eg freezer burn which can affect the look and texture slightly but will not be a safety issue.
If it's been kept in the freezer it will be absolutely fine and I would eat it. Once you've had some more replies I'll add your thread to the existing thread on food safety.
