    Hi Kadeeae,

Like the others I reheat gammon all the time with no problems, as do the people who posted in this thread: Leftover Gammon

Once you've had a few more opinions I'll add this to the Quick Questions on food safety / sell by / use by dates as your query may help others.

You could, yes, certainly no health risk but it may well dry out a bit or cook down too much to nothing. I would just microwave it and add it right at the end.
And if, you know, your history...
  • I reheat gammon too - but I do make sure its really, really hot the second time around, just in case.

    Hi funkyfish,

Providing it was chilled quickly and kept in the fridge, yes you can. I would add it to your curry towards the end of cooking though as reheated chicken can become stringy if cooked for too long.

thank you, it was clingfilmed when cooled & stored in the fridge. I will just add my curry to the slow cooker & at the end add the chicken. Im a bit funny with chicken after getting food poisoning as a child! xx

I've never heard of not reheating it.
Maybe they're trying to encourage you to throw it away and buy some more.

Hello all, I thought I would ask here since you all seem so knowledgable :) I bought 1 lb of mince on Friday from a different butcher to usual, and I have just started cooking it now ready for a batch cook, but there is a slightly different smell to normal. It is not offencive, I would describe it as slighlty vinegary, does this mean it is on the turn and I should chuck it does any body know? I did wonder if it is because it is from a different butchers, but surely mince should smell of mince regardless of where it is from shouldnt it?
So should I cook it and feed it to the family or bin it, any ideas?
    Thanks :)
