I would chop into one and see. They can't be off I guess as they sound very much alive still. But I have had onions that are more green inside (like fresh bud) and not nice.0

Thank you. That's what worried me. Teach me to be more awake:o So much for my cutting down on waste this year.0

I usually just cut the tops off and see if the onion is ok inside. if its green in the centre I dont use it - but sometimes its ok!0

I made veg soup today and the 2 leeks I used had a use by date of 19 November 2010
They were very papery on the outside but I just took all of that off and the insides were fresh as a daisy
I think the swede that went into it was bought soon after Xmas but as I found half of it in the fridge, I used that too. Got some very ancient cooking apples in there that will get used up this week for crumble
Previous to my MSE OS Board days, this would all have been in the bin or composter :eek:0 -

I put a pork joint in the slow cooker last Monday with some apple juice, tasted gorgeous
. Put what was left in a tupperware box and put it in the fridge. It got shoved behind a few things and forgotten and I have just found it.
Can I turn it in to a meal (probably enough to eek out a meal for the 3 kids) or should I throw it away?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
