I'd use them, last christmas we had a christmas pud that was 7 years out of date, it was fine and we all survived! Especially as the pack is sealed I can't forsee any problem with the almonds.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Just smell them - I find 'old' nuts tend to get a musty smell sometimes - especially walnuts and brazils which I now keep in the freezer!!

The fats in nuts can go rancid very easily, but if the packs are sealed it shouldn't be so much of a problem. The rancid fats are bad for you, but they won't actually make you ill...I'd go ahead and use them unless they smell really funny.0

I'm pretty cavailer about OOD food, but rancid nuts can ruin a dishHave a smell; if they smell OK have a taste. If they taste OK they'll be fine (if they're off you'll know at once, believe me

Got a large tub of stork that was bought for a great bake fest that never happened. It was out of date on 24th November 2010, really don't want to waste it so would value your opinion whether I could use it or not.
Thanks for any replies.0 -
I would, it's made with veg oil (itself a preservative), and not butter.====0

I would as it is only a couple of months over.0

I would use, for the same reasons as d123 said.

I am using a tub of Clover with a December BBE date, its fine, no different to normal. I am guessing it would go rancid, similar to butter, if it was off. But I may be wrong.0
