    Ola,

Dansmum - it's something close to an affliction. I tend not to do things by half measures which normally results in a) things getting done and b) me annoying the hell out of the people around me with planning and obsessing.

For those who are aiming to lose a lot of weight, a friend of mine lost 6 stones last year using the "lighter life" diet. It sounded a bit extreme and ended with him being vain enough to go and get a tummy tuck to get shot of the excess skin but it certainly worked. I don't mean to sound down about the diet pills but I've only known people to decry them as faddish. The three people I know who have used them have all lost weight quickly then put it back on almost as quickly. Best of luck with them though nat. A marathon is a properly brave notion. I ran for half an hour last night (indoors) and that was plenty.

Froggy - you'll be a stick man before you know it! Well done on another two pounds going. It'll be new clothes for the new job before you know it.

TPA - that's a hell of an achievement already. Don't be so down on yourself.

    Cheers,

    Billy

Well its weigh in for me and I managed to lose 1lb which is great as I was naughty at the weekend. Tried to go to an new exercise class tonight but the school was shut so will need to find another zumba class to go to and start the exercise to really kickstart the weight loss.

Nat, good luck with the marathon - I'm doing my first half marathon 8 weeks on Sunday and really want to do a full one next year. I also seem to have found myself talked into running a few races for charity in my wedding dress after it's been put to its proper use in August! Going to be running for Hounds for Heroes, so not too dissimilar :D

Found a calorie counter on the iphone so I can get good and obsessive. Cheers,

    Billy

Ah another App obsessive those Iphone/Ipod things are just brilliant at keeping track. Which one do you use I'm using MyFitnessPal its just so easy to note everthing down and I love it when the calories gets taken off with exercise.

Im doing Pilates today will do my back some good and hopefully a bit of toning. Was bad last night and had 2 glasses of rose but on the whole been good. Also had some Spanish Almond sweets again left over from Christmas (present to my mum but she doesn't like them) and I do.

Well done to those who have lost, keep going and thanks for all the interesting conversations I am totally new to diets.

  • Have not lost any weight this week.

It was my birthday yesterday (38) and ended up having a massive Chinese, birthday cake and and several beers, well it was my birthday and I'm allowed a day off :D
Felt a bit guilty later on in the evening (had the day off) so did 200 calories on my bike, felt a bit better after that)

I must have lost weight during the start of the week as when I weighed myself this morning it had not gone up from last week.

name / weight / total lost / intended loss / pounds lost in 2011
    jock_tight / 17st12Ibs / -2lbs / 14Ibs / 2

I wont be doing a BMI number as this is for the 'average person' and does not take into account someone with increased muscle mass.

Well done to those who are sticking to their plans!

    Morning All,

name / weight / total lost / intended loss / pounds lost in 2011 / weigh in report / BMI / left to lose
    wynnvegas / 12st7Ibs / -42lbs / 49Ibs / 2 / Daily / 23.81 / 7lbs

Another pound gone this morning. I was disappointed not to get out on my afternoon walk yesterday as I was slammed at work but down to 23.81 is good progress. My goal was to break the 24 barrier by the end of this week, the 23.50 barrier next week and the 23 barrier by the end of January so I'm on track...but starving!

My hunger pangs weren't helped last night. I had my first game of competitive darts (and, bizarrely, won!) (btw, who knew a can of diet irn bru is only 3 calories) and afterward a massive tray of freshly baked pies and sausage rolls arrived to tuck into. I managed not to dive in as things were going particularly well yesterday. Calories consumed - 863 less the 137 for the exercising I did manage to do. A net gain to me of 724 which I'll need to start sorting out as that's too big a gap and I'll doubtless run the risk of the stupid body storing everything as fat.

Thus far today, had my now regular bowl of quaker oats porridge in the morning alongside a clementine (213 calories). I need to start doing what Moyra does and grab a bowl of fruit for lunchtime to keep me ticking over as by the time I get home I'm starving and I need to force myself not to eat anything after dinner. We're out for dinner tonight, tomorrow and Sunday so I'll need to be at my ignorant best and have chicken salads without dressing. I won't be beaten this time!!

Tallgirl - that's the one I'm playing with. It's another amazing tool (still not one to rival Sky+ remote record mind). It stopped me from grabbing a kit kat in tesco last night and I've sat for four and a half hours this morning with a box of home made truffles and another of Mr Kipling Apple Pies without diving in. Willpower, obstinence or shame - I'll take whatever is going to get to where I want to be!!

Gym tomorrow now that I'm over the man flu. We're off to the Esporta in Hamilton to see what's what with it. Bit of badminton and a shot of the gym and sauna is the best laid plan.

Jock - I'm with you on the BMI not being overly accurate. It keeps demanding that I get down to 10 and a half stone which even I know would look ridiculous. I've not hit the weights again as yet but I'll aim for a wee bit of weight training next week.

    Cheers,

    Billy
