Jock - I'm with you on the BMI not being overly accurate. It keeps demanding that I get down to 10 and a half stone which even I know would look ridiculous. I've not hit the weights again as yet but I'll aim for a wee bit of weight training next week.

    Cheers,

    Billy
According to one of the weight/height charts online for myself (6'3", medium frame) I should be ~12 stone 7 lbs !!

So theoretically I need to lose over 5 stone  ....someone is having a laugh, I'd look like a zombie if I did that!!.
    5/10/12 : Mortgage Free :)
  • I weighed myself today and have lost the Ib i had put on over last week, so more being careful over the weekend before official weigh in and i might see a better loss.

We are away this weekend so i will try and avoid the delights at a christening buffet and MILs scrummy cooking. I will be strong and have some willpower.

    Morning All,

My hunger pangs weren't helped last night. I had my first game of competitive darts (and, bizarrely, won!) (btw, who knew a can of diet irn bru is only 3 calories) and afterward a massive tray of freshly baked pies and sausage rolls arrived to tuck into. I managed not to dive in as things were going particularly well yesterday. Calories consumed - 863 less the 137 for the exercising I did manage to do. A net gain to me of 724 which I'll need to start sorting out as that's too big a gap and I'll doubtless run the risk of the stupid body storing everything as fat.

    Cheers,

    Billy

This has confused me, have you only eaten 863 calories on that day above, or is this 863 added to calorie metabolisom for your body

So if your body at rest needs 1600 calories, for that day your total calories from food where 2463

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hi Radish,

I wasn't aware of the calorie metabolism requirement. That was 863 intake so a net 726 which obviously isn't enough as I'm shattered today. I think I'll pop out for some lunch now. My wee app thing is telling me to get a net 1450 calories of a day which I'll aim for now.

    Cheers,

    Billy

Interesting lunch today - I forgot to bring a fork so I'm eating rice and morrocan veggies with a tea spoon!

Bad diet day yesterday, the chocolate called me. Although I didn't throw in the towel and had my homemade beef burgers with some veg and salad rather than buns and wedges like DH and my friend had.

Still no real exercise, I'm just so shattered by the evening. Hoping to go on our walk tomorrow, forecast has changed from heavy rain to just rain :D

Went to the doctors about my bp again today (I was there last week, it was 146/116) and today it was 132/72!!! Its never been that low when I've been at work (stress is my major cause, and my job is quite intense), so we're just monitoring it for now.

:T, that did have me worried, some people on a calorie controlled diet where they have replacement drinks instead of food have died as they have only been consuming 850 calories a day for a period of time

Some gyms do measure your metabolism at rest so you can find out this is the minimum your body needs to function each day, so any movement would require more calories, as you lose weight this figure goes down, so its harder to lose weight when you are nearer your target

This weekly weigh-in malarky isnt working for me- I can lose/gain up to 4lbs in a day so I think a daily weigh-in would suit me better. So this morning....
