  • Hi.
Not sure if your on our FB page Nibe boiler problems...we have had 28,000 hits on it and it worth asking on there if you have not done so already.
Can does your home have a gas connection ?
  • Hi, yeah i do have a gas supply, thats why it makes no sense why they put such a crap system in.
I am on the facebook page aswell.
I know its going to be a long road down the complaints road but you never know it may be worth it.
  • ditto......I think as we are connected to gas that we have an easy win with the housing ombudsman...
But I am hearing on our FB page that people off the gas grid are also saying that the old storage heaters cost less to run and even oil than these 360p units ...the 360p model has a WORKING efficiency of 220% in perfect conditions as the temp goes down so does the efficiency then you get to below 8C and all of a sudden the system cannot cope with hot water and heating...unless it uses back up power....back power is a 6000 watt immersion element...and it drags the efficiency down to 25%...now remember to match a 90% gas boiler the electric run heat pump boiler has to be at least a CONSTANT 300% efficient.....NO HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hi, I also have a shared ownership house through Longhurst & havelock homes, Mine is a 3 storey town house.
I am at present going through the complaints process. i have just told them i going on to stage 2, cause i want something doing about the Nibe boiler.
I was also told that the system was cheap and eco-friendly. What a load of rubbish! The instructions are also rubbish, was given i thick book on how to install the thing, thats the last thing i want to do!
i STILL don't really know what i'm doing with it but i am managing it the best i can. I did find out the other day after all the wind and sleepless nights, that you can close the vents, it makes a difference in the house. I have tried to get nibe to come out and show me how it works but they won't, not even when it went wrong and i had to turn it off.
I am coping with the Autum/Spring mode at the minute cause i daren't put it Winter mode. i find myself turning radiators on and off just so i know i have hot water in the morning, Constantly checking my hot water temp, to make sure i have a high enough temp to maybe put a radiator on for a while, to warm my kids rooms.

If anyone else is in Longhurst and havelock Homes House, I am trying to get some support with my complaint, i believe that my neighbours have also put in complaints but the more they get the better.

Hi, we are with L&H. Only been in our 2 bed for month and already racked up quite a bill. We are in the Ferriby Rise estate in Scartho Top. We're still awaiting a demonstration after a few weeks of begging, and it looks like the only demonstrator they have is "someone in the office", which I won't accept. We have no neighbours yet, so it's good to here another L&H customer with this problem. If you need me to assist in your complaint, I will be happy to. But, I'm just going to see, the more they make me wait, the more they're digging a hole for themselves when we complain...
  • I have a NIBE Fighter 200p in a one-bed flat, average about 13 units a day. Radiators barely get hot and as the thermostat is in the smallest room (the hall) it switches off way before it should.
  • if you are only using 13 units a day you are really lucky, i have got a nibe fighter 2005 , and use 26/30 units a day, and my 2 bedroom house is freezing, but my housing association say that as long as i am getting 20/ 21 degrees it is all they have to provide. I had a meeting at my housing office last week over a different issue, but we took a thermometer with us, without telling the ha , and the temprature in the different rooms in their offfice was between 25/29 degrees, so its do as we say, not do as we do.

Hi, Goodluck with trying to get nibe to come out think they are scared of coming out of the Office, they wouldn't even come out when mind messed up they told me what to do over the phone, rubbish.
Have you started the complaint process? i believe it has 6 stages and i'm on stage 2 and now waiting to a reply to the letter i sent them to why i was continuing, looking forward to this one. Its amazing what info you can find out through forums and Face book with Nibe boiler problems.
It also surprised me to how many people are in the same situation, also nice to see not alone. Long fight ahead, and a case of us all sticking together. let me know how you get on.

  • NIBE sales director has left company ...many in the heat pump business has seen this a s a rat leaving a sinking ship.....If NIBE product gets gone as in the 360 and 205 then that's it for NIBE as the ground source business will not keep the UK arm open.....shame they had to !!!! it up for other heat pump manufacturers but justice will be served...

The efficiencies of the NIBE exhaust air heat pump are in black and white for all to read no hiding form some simple maths....see ya NIBE sukas...

Doesn't really help your cause getting resolution to your problems though does it? Can't see housing associations and developers across the country ripping out systems which, fundamentally, do provide heating - although get that they are flawed and expensive to run, but that isn't their problem.

mmmm....have you not heard of the sustainable homes act ...which all social housing landlords must build to a minimum of code level 3...its the Law(note that for private developers it is voluntary ) Not only that but to secure Homes Agency Funding (local government funding) the funding will put a code level minimum on the build usually level 3 but can be higher....most social housing has been heavily funded by the Homes Agency Funding.
So yes it is their, the HAs, problem..Does it help are cause ...well for me I can buy a gas boiler for 2k and bolt it on if I want..no problem...but I see proud people who work hard and are entering into fuel poverty for the 1st time ,not because the price of fuel has risen but because the boiler in their home has TRIPLED the cost of hot water and heating...when indeed in these code level 3 new build it should be the opposite...but look at the bigger picture....it affects you because its your tax money that has funded over 4,000 of these units to go into homes which has tripled the CO2 output of a new build...which affect you and your families ....so yes our cause is not a selfish one ,as I said I can just rip the system out myself...our cause is for the vulnerable, for families for YOU!. Facebook Page NIBE BOILER PROBLEMS......31,000 page views in under a year now hitting 1,000 views a day....cant all be NIBE owners....
