    Champix - Day 2

I've already started the super-charged spring clean! But that could be more to do with trying to avoid knuckling down to the 4000 word assignment due in 10 days:eek:

I've also got the knitting back out, as well as the cross stitching and ironing!

I lead such an exciting life...

LOL! I didn't have much skin left on my hands after I'd finished bleaching the house in the first week. I think I must have done about 6 weeks worth of cleaning in a few days. :rotfl:

You're doing grand, I'll find you a star if you like ;)

Scary biscuits? Wow I've never heard anyone else ever say that, most of the time folks look at me like i've just climbed out of a hole in the ground. I feel vindicated! So where did we get it from is the next question.... :D

I have no idea where I got it from and I just searched around google to see if that revealed anything of the origins - seems there's quite a lot of people like you and me wondering where does it come from and no answers. :rotfl:

I'm too tired now to jump up and down to celebrate my 3 weeks smokefree. I have literally been on my feet all day, ironing, vacuuming, gardening, baked a cake and the stupid lying pedometer reckons I only did 6151 steps. Honestly, I could barely stand for a second longer and my bed is screaming out to me - it's such hard work being a non-smoker :rotfl: previously I would have had at least ten breaks to take the weight off my feet.

    Night all, see you tomorrow.

  • Hello everyone! I'm skulking back in rather shamefaced I'm afraid. Have been having little puffs here and there and kidding myself I won't smoke very much. Needless to say my cig intake has been increasing and I know it must stop. So I'm back on patches today and starting afresh with renewed enthusiasm. I've caught up on the posts and it's nice to see so much success and support. I have kept up with my exercise so it's not a total disaster and I've entered a half marathon in may. Training starts Monday!!! I might be down but I'm not out!!!

Hi there Hattie, :hello: it's just wonderful to see you back!!!!! :D I only asked where you were yesterday or the day before, though I assumed things were ok, but remembered you were having minor problems. Not to worry, Hattie...you've returned to the fold and that's all that matters. I'm so delighted to see you're starting off again. Keep coming on again and don't forget the water, fruit as well as the exercise! If you're going to do that half marathon in May, then knuckle down and let's get your breathing better and expand your lungs. Try going up small hills (or elavated treadmill) asap as that'll really help in expanding them, then go a little further and a little higher as and when you're ready and you'll get them opened more and more. You can do it though - so long as you give the cigs up. Let us know the places where you came unstuck last time and let's see if we can help you through them - I'm sure we WILL!!!! It's great to see you Hattie, and very well done on keeping hold of the exercise!!!! :T :j It's not all doom and gloom at all. ;)

Hiya all - how are we all getting on? Ive briefly read through the thread that I missed and it seems we have yet MORE people joining us! How fantastic is that?!
Im doing OKish. Ive struggled this weekend due to having a very very stressful weekend. Lots of screaming, shouting, ranting, raving and crying so felt at times I needed a smoke to clam down. I didnt and today has been a chilled day and it feels a bit better. Fingers crossed I will be back to normal by tomorrow.
STILL no sign of baby...she is due in 5 days, still trying all the home remedies to bring labour on ;)
Hope everyone is well! Keep up the good work, take one day at a time and if needs be - one hour at a time :)
    Good luck!

This time it's been a couple of weeks and I'm ready to pack up again so somethings sinking in!!! It's great to see how well people are doing! Well done to you jammy and thanks for the positive words. I've got my patches, my water and my satsumas plus I have to run 4 miles tomorrow evening for my training! It's easier when you're not coughing a lung up!!!

No, the 1st week was NOT easy...however suddenly I had enough breath..and that was a revelation in that I could walk further and do more ...as many find!...the housework gets done :rotfl: and boy, am I grateful!!

Had to have an eye test last week [2 yearly one ] and found out I had the beginnings of cataracts in both eyes...the optician said it was partly due to smoking! just another reason to break free of the gremlin for me.

However, loving being able to breathe freely and registering 1 on the monitor thingy at the docs :D

    keep going everyone!

ps...still unable to suck my ice pops until I go into hosp to have the teeth out

  • Have made it to day 7 and I can confirm that all close family members are still living. Won't say it has been easy this week but it hasn't been bad. Have used many methods over the years to try and give up but have never managed 7 days cold turkey so a big pat on the back to me Dowloaded a hypnosis app to the ipod today which could be good when I get home from work in the evening as a little wind down before I get wound up. Took Daphne Dog for a bracing walk today over South Weald (big country park) which is so good as a stress buster, excercise is definately the way forward. Food consumption is definately on the up but i am trying to drink water and eat fruit as a substitute, although there is no substitute for the custard cream. Interestingly, when giving up previously I have not noticed a significant improvement in taste, however, this time I can start tasting things.
Well done everyone we are doing so well.
Not massively in debt, but possibly heading there!

Bien Ads, et tu? Don't worry too much about your naughty thoughts, I think most new stoppers could have had devilish seconds of "oooh I know a home for that!",....but that if push really came to shove - they wouldn't do it as they know what the results could lead to! Apart from that Ads, someone could have peed on it the night before!!! :rotfl:

Well done on another good day.

    Hey Sue,

Sorry only just read the above comment from you. Must have missed it somehow :o
Haha that someone might have done a wee on it, probably did knowing the villiage I work in :D
