I don't mean to put a downer on the day but today has been hell.
I found myself getting snappy & mad all day. Every little thing infuriated me
I had the store tech in my office this morning & he was sat at the computer at the other end of the desk, and I'm not kidding his breathing was like sitting next to Darth Vador. I could feel myself getting riled up then snapped and said "!!!!!!, do you really have to breathe so loud" He replied, well excuse me for breathing & then I asked him to leave my store as I didn't like his attitude. I did have a good :rotfl: afterwards over how petty I was being & phoned him up to apologize which he acceptedAfter I got passed the moody stage today, it went brilliant & I feel like I'm back on track now
That "nick" seriously ain't winning!

Hi Det Dawson and the rest of the Smoke free gang:j,
I totally understand the mood swings, irritability and general craziness linked to quitting. I went cold turkey and I tell you, I'm normally easy going when things are grand, but NOBODY could have looked at me for 3 whole days otherwise I'd have probably tied them up and left them upside down in a corner:mad:. Seriously though, the irritability at every little small thing that other people do does go and things do get better. I hope you are all well and are continuing to take each day as it comes.

Hello.
I do actually feel good in myself. Thanks for the words of encouragement too. They all help and its good to know that one day I'l just feel normal. I need to say that it feel so good not to think about when my next smoke is. Even people that work for me say I get more achieved lol! Best thing I've ever done & I'm so staying with quitting this time, no matter how hard times get - it isn't winning, I've got much more to lose that one lousy ciggie !Smoke free since 19/01/110 -
Bad day today as i was very upset this morning, thought it would be so much better if i still smoked, that would take the pain away.
Good day - because I didn't.
Thought of what my daughter told me a few weeks ago, if you have a problem and you have a cig to try to make it better, you will then have 2 problems the original one, plus you have now started smoking again.
Well done everyone.Debt Free Dec 2009non-smoker 19th Nov 2010Trying to lose weight 40lb/42lb

Hi all, hope you are ok. Still non smoking here and now its just like we've never smoked. So determined not to let nic sneek back up on me.
Elfen, its nice not smoking. I really like it. Can't believe it took me so long to get here and it wasn't really that difficult if I'm totally honest. Come and join usThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
OK, Ads, I'll believe you and if what you say is true then I'm chuffed to bits. It shouldn't get any harder for you though, yes, there maybe days like yesterday, but otherwise you should go full steam ahead from here on, reaping the benefits of having stopped, as you go. A day at a time Ads, but you have a great frame of mind and are talking out your feelings..a great trait. Keep it up and enjoy your quit.
Hi Red, good to see you.
Hi Jenny, How wise is your lass - and how sensible you, her dear Mum, is! She really has done you proud on such an important day, one that could easily have seen you falter and return to the demon Nick. Please let her know just how she's helped you through such a time and well done both of you on having such a lovely relationship, a delight to see. Good for you for listening to her, Jenny and for taking note at the time it was necessary.
No, elfen, you hadn't failed at all. I can understand you being fearful of not having any on the first day, but you did only have the 2 and you now know you got through the rest of the day ok, so you know you'll be alright tomorrow. You're using the patches so tomorrow'll be a good day. Enjoy being free from the hold it's had over you and move into a far healthier world where cash is so much easier to be found!
Hi Penelope, great to see you! You're both really doing wonderfully well, encouraging others too which is always good to see.! It's so good to see how little you're missing it, good to see you've so quickly let it our of your lives...with joy in fact! Well done and keep up that superb work!
It's been so very successful again today everyone, let's look to another for you ALL tomorrow. It's possible to quit and enjoy it, why not when you're getting your health back. Have a good night everyone.

Day 21 Champix
evening everyone
had a busy day, cleaning house & packing for db& df wedding up north tomorrow. Everything done now and will be leaving at 7am so off to bed shortly. Finding it easier as time goes on, keep getting headaches but think I need to drink more juice(can't drink the water here it is awful).
Well done to everyone else too. Without this thread for support don't think I would have managed this long. Thanks everyone especially Sue.
Take care0 -
2 weeks and 1 day of cold turkey. Well, I say cold turkey but I read the Allen Carr Easy Way to Stop Smoking book before I attempted to stop. I have had a lot of withdrawal symptoms and have had a cough so bad that my back muscles went into spasm last week. I thought I'd give it time to ease itself but at 10am this morning I shall be going to see the doctor as my back does not seem to be getting any easier, in fact it is agony at night time as I cant get into a comfortable position to sleep!
Anyway, aside from the withdrawal symptoms, I feel that now, after 2 weeks, I think I am beginning to feel "human" again. I still have a productive cough but even that is easing slightly every day. I feel like I have more energy and can breathe easier.
I feel like I know can begin to tackle my weight problem. I have not put any considerable amount of weight on in the last couple of weeks but I am generally about 4 stones overweight
I bought Allen Carr's Easyweigh to Lose Weight book in the hope that he can help me in this area of my life and now have started today thinking about exactly what I am putting in my mouth.
I honestly feel 2011 is going to be a great year for me. I want to be healthy, I want to enjoy life, I will be free of my demons!
So to sum up 2011 : Less debt, Less weight, No Fags!!
Good Luck to all x0 -
Thanks Sue for your support, its great reading all the posts and how well everyone is getting on.
Sailors wife, i'm like you i have some weight issues I need to tackle, I'm waiting until mid march when I've been off the fags for four months, the weather will be a little warmer, I work outside so it does effect.
Keep up the gpood work everyone.Debt Free Dec 2009non-smoker 19th Nov 2010Trying to lose weight 40lb/42lb

As for me. Dreams are getting weirder and weirder - not smoking related I dont think - hormonal Im guessing. Not sleeping very well at all which is not like me. Im bathing, having a milky drink, lots of lavender around the room and it worked up until recently - I suffer from epilepsy which is aggravated by lack of sleep so docs have been on and on at me about resting well...seem o have a problem with it recently though! Plan on sleeping lots this weekend!
Oh that post sounded like woe is me! And I didnt mean it to! Im just tired but very happy and 20 days smoke free is cracking for me
Keep up the good work allx
