Hope everyone is okay and sticking with the program.
Just checking in at the end of another day sans ciggies. I came out of the supermarket this evening and have to admit to lingering for a brief moment to take a large lungful of the smell from the smokers hanging around the doorway... oh dear that's bad!!
On the bright side; only another 2.5 days to go before I see the two weeks milestone.Mortgage

Wonderful news, goodgirl!!! So how long is it that you haven't smoked for? If you'd kindly put the amount of days, weeks etc and the method used to quit it would be so helpful to us all, you included. ie. Take a look at Tricia's or Kiwisaver's Title Bar above their post and you'll see what I mean. Why the embarrassed smilie after saying you'd not spent any money on cigarettes?? I hope that doesn't mean what I think it might do?? Please GG, let us know what you're doing.
Keep up the terrific work, GG, you really are doing well and deserve to be so proud of yourself.
Hi Kiwisaver and very well done indeed on nearly 12 days free...it will be by the time you wake up. Shame on your for "lingering for a brief moment to take a large lungful of the smell from the smokers hanging around the doorway!" Though I do believe all of us have been guilty of that on one or more occasion, though to me there are other times when it smells revolting! You're doing so very well, keep looking ahead to great milestones ahead of you....they're there ahead of you..just a little blurred til you reach them, but you will!!!
Hi there Sally and very well done on leaving another day behind you. You're starting to do brilliantly, be proud for all your sakes, but especially yours. I'd go for your little lass coming after the due date, at least 9 times out or 10 the little treasures do. What a thought that in just 2 weeks time you could be cuddling her and showering her with love - there's nothing else like it, truly.
I hope everyone else is having a great day - thrilled at the thoughts of having said tata to the evil Nick!

Well this has been a better day- did not kill anyone:D
Sue, my OH has old-fashioned values. He says that it is his house & he can do what he likes in it, including smoking.
In a way, I find it hard to argue with his viewpoint. It just makes it a wee bit more difficult to give up.0 -
Evening,
Everyone sounds like there doing sooooo well that's wonderful. :j
I've been busy with work, life etc which has been good as it's kept me busy and staying away from the fags.
I've been home today and the first time i've had cravings, but strangely enough, i don't think i drink enough water when i'm at home as well. At work they know that i'm permanently attached to my water bottle so i think i need some more tonight.
I've had a lovely walk this morning though, and i'm trying to keep to healthy food with plenty of fruit and veg, but i think its my portion sizes. and the sneaky biscuits that jump into my mouth :rotfl:
Anyway, a chilled smoke free night over here, with a lovely soak in a bubble bath. I'm now finally using all them smelly collections that you get for xmas and birthdays that i just used to re-wrap and pass on as presentsall in the cause of MSE of course!

Well done, elfen, you will get there.0

Evening everyone,
Today has been amazing, met up with the "date" and to be totally honest I haven't thought of smoking all day. So different from the day from hell yesterday! I didn't snap at anyone today! Even this woman that comes into work everyday and always asks "is this fresh in today?" I'm usually furious with her but I was calm and collected today! Really didn't think that I would feel like this yesterday, being the day that it turned out to be. I actually smelt someone that obviously smoked today when they walked passed me & it actually made me wanna hurl chunks. Bring on more days like this, no one can stop me now!
Keep it up everyone!
(Hi to Sue (my rock) too xxSmoke free since 19/01/110 -
Not too bad at all then elfen, but as you really didn't want the ones you had today how about not letting yourself have any tomorrow. You're on patches which are putting nicotine into your body anyway so you ought to be ok without fags. When you get up try saying to yourself "OK, I won't smoke at all today, but if I wish, I can smoke tomorrow." Then on Saturday renew your pledge and do the same every day until you don't need to, which with patches shouldn't be long at all. Well done elfen, you're on your way!!! :j
What a rotten shame sheep-ali, I won't say anything else - honest! :shhh: :lipsrseal No, I won't - I will stay schtum!! :silenced: Somebody hold me back - quick!!! Given all that you have a heck of a lot of guts to start out quitting and look how far you've come already!!! :T:TIf you can make it through, and I'm quite sure you can, you'll have a huge amount to boast about and be massively proud of!!!!Go on sheep-ali show him you CAN and WILL beat it no matter what!! Most of all though, you do it all - for YOU!
Hi maz and lovely to see you - doing so very, very well too!! :j It's good to hear you've been using the water, well done for you, keep at it, especially at home. You really do seem to be getting on amazingly maz, I can see a quitter in the making here!Try to keep a watchful eye on the portions you're eating or you'll set yourself up for that amount from here on, drink a glass of water about 3/4 hr before your meals, it helps keep things in check as it helps fill you. You can reward yourself with a biscuit here and there...but be careful they don't end up going in freestyle. Don't forget the sucking of Ice Pole/Pops...they last a long time - and they work! Well done on the walk maz, you really are setting out to help yourself in every which way and it's a joy to see. Stick at it maz! Ere, have you been watching me after Christmas when I sit glaring at gifts I've been given before re-wrapping them????!!!
Oh Ads, you've got me blushing here, I may be good (and I keep telling my DH I am) but I ain't THAT good! Anyway, I take your point though and thank you. I always found that if I had a bad day that the next was a good one so I always kept it in mind. You do the same, everyone else too, and you'll have a good 'n to look ahead to! Keep up the terrific word, Ads, you're doing marvellously!
Brilliant work everyone, stay at it and keep strong!
