    Well done everyone.

I'm on day 25, that sounds like AGES now, really pleased. Up and down still, I'm using nicotine gum and it's ok, not the same, but I'm sure it does something for me. I have to admit that I've followed a couple of smokers up the street to get a whiff of second hand smoke, lol, but I haven't actually smoked myself since going cold turkey on 2nd Jan.

Had a tough day today as stressful at work and kept thinking 'i want a faaaaaaaag!' but some days I don't even think about it at all, so overall it's getting easier.

I'm still quite snotty and mucousy in my throat in the mornings (sorry, tmi) but my breathing is definitely easier and I can breathe more deeply.

I was on the bus to work yesterday and there were 2 teenage girls behind me. One was moaning and complaining as she had no fags and didn't think she had enough to buy some. they were both rummaging through their pockets and coats to drag up odd 2ps and things, and got to about £2, not quite enough for 10. So then they had a bit chat about who she might be able to borrow another 50p off...she couldn't go all day without fags. I just found it all terribly sad. That would have been me humiliating myself a couple of months ago if I was short of fag money not that I ever borrowed for it, but that panicked fumbling around the bottom of all your bags for crusty 5ps and so on.
Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

    Hi,

Just popped in to say well done to Itselliebelle. Fantastic.

Just shows all you need is to get a bit of time behind you and then it all falls into place.

Keep it up all you new quitters! :)

    19 days champix

    Hi everyone

Still doing ok, still occasionally having headaches, but think that is the badness still coming out. I smoked for 28 years so will take some time I think to get out of my system. Still getting over the shock of death of db fianc!e dad due to cancer which was smoking related, he only became ill round October time, found out the week b4 Christmas and died last Friday at 60 yrs old. This has made me even more determined to suceed.

My db & df are still getting married Friday, they all want it to be a celebration. I know that is what her dad would have wanted.

Still not managing to remember names. Well done to everyone that is suceeding or thinking of quitting. It does get easier, the cravings get less and less.

    Take care

Ah good to see you're still as buoyant as the rest, Sally, well done. So, bag's packed then right?? ;)

Very correct points there, jennyo, I couldn't agree more.

Another good day almost over then Adam, and an even better one to look ahead to tomorrow, your first real celebration. Have a great night and be chuffed to bits on waking in the morning!:D

Congratulations on having finished with the programme, Ross!!! A great day for you too! Another step along the quitting road. :T:T

Congratulations also to you, Tally!!! :T:T After all you'd been saying over the last 3 weeks or so I'm not at all surprised to hear you're not using any patches and just using your inhalator as and when. I'm delighted for you as it's a great time for you, especially after so long with attempts. You have so much to be thrilled about, Tally. A very good CM reading too, though try to keep away from as much traffic as possible as it indicates you may have been near some. Well done Tally, you're doing GREAT!!!

Very well done DNM :T:T and your post spells out exactly what it's been like for you..and down all along, BUT you've stuck with it and not caved and I hope you're as proud of yourself as I am for you! I hope the finances soon pick up. That was a heck of a run you did, what a difference quitting does for us - if we give it the chance. I reckon you'll be ok when the party comes, but as you say, you'll have your OH with you for support. I'm so pleased you've reaped the best possible from the thread.

Great news, heretolearn and congratulations on having done so well!!! You've kept busy but quiet and just beavered away all the time you've been quitting. I have to admit that I've followed one or two people to get a whiff of their smoke some years ago..sometimes it was ok..other times it was disgusting! Oh those poor young girls..I do hope they and all those like them come to their senses asap - though WHY did they ever start when they know the full score! The nasal problems will keep up for a while then gradually peter out. All the best, you've done terrifically!!! :T:T

I could NOT have put that better myself Jammy!! :D

Congratulations on 19 days free, topsyturphy!!! I'm so pleased your quit has been made stronger as a result of your friend's death, no doubt he'd be pleased to know it. I was delighted to see that his Daughter and your Brother are still getting married, it'll be a very emotional day, but she's obviously very happy that it'll be celebrating his life too.

Another day over folks and another free from all the harm of smoking to look ahead to. :j
