So if anyone asks any questions, you can send them over to the other thread.
Believe me folks, I am not here to cause trouble, just trying to put the record absolutely straight with Lotus-Eater.
You say in your post above (3947) Lotus-Eater and in the PM I received from you yesterday that you never said the bolded words above, but as you can clearly see for yourself it's here in black & white as quoted from your post to me on page 152!
So, can we finally end this "you said"......"I didn't say" business once and for all and please do not expect a reply to your PM, as I will not be doing so as it's far too petty for words.
Sue
Hi everyone: As Chrissie has said above, I can also offer help to those stopping smoking. So, if anyone genuinely wishes to stop smoking without the use of e-cigs then they are welcome to PM me. I will gladly be here for anyone in PM capacity for help, tips and advice while I think through exactly what I will be doing in the future on this thread.
It's a great shame that this thread, 1 of 3 originally so thoughtfully started by Jo, has slowly been ruined. It would appear to me to be that I am the problem with at least 2 people so if I stand down things may carry on better.
Please carry on quitting folks, at least through these threads we've seen in excess of 30 people who have quit! Some for well over 3 years! So we've had some wonderfully proud moments in the 4 years I've been here.
Never, ever think you're unable to achieve what we all have! Truth is ANYONE CAN!!!

Please do not stand down Sue. You have been a wealth of support and knowledge for a lot of us. We Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!
Don't let a few who want to fight stop you in your good work. You have worked wonders with your words of advice and encouragement to most people.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Nobody wants a fight.
All I want, is for Sue to stop saying things like this.Sorry njk1012, but we're not able to help you with E-cigs, you need more help than anyone on this thread is able to give.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
It's certainly became more unfriendly since sue gave the advice that there was an e cig thread that people may have got more advice on. I'm certainly not going to debate it with you, as a heavy smoker, I'll take all the help I can get, and with some of you and your posts causing bad feelings.
I've used this forum on the several occasions I've tried to quit. What works for one, doesn't work for others. And Sue has been a wealth of advice and encouragement. No matter what method I've tried.
Just drop it eh. We're all in the same boat wanting to quit the evil weed. I'm sure the advice on the thread on ecigs is most helpful to people who choose that method.
I'm sure if njk hadn't gone over to the ecig thread he/she wouldn't have already got the gr8 advice that's available over there. Like not buying the ones that look like cigs cos they aren't much copSo as usual Sue was spot on with her advice to go there.
To state the obvious, for those of us who want to stop with use of Ecigs, there is a very handy thread on ecigs. I'm sure Lotus-Eater will point you in the right direction. As for support, I'll support anyone who wants to chat with regards to it, having tried and failed with most methods, if you feel you need support drop me a line.
Without doubt that will me being as bad as Sue.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
I haven't visited the e-cig thread on MSE I gained the advice I needed from contributors on this thread.
I have since visited a forum which is completely separate to MSE, which I might add is extremely friendly.
I'm not here to nitpick but to contribute to a stop smoking thread.
Anyway Still going well here heading to the one week mark which is lunch time tomorrow, I'm absolutely certain I will make it.
Good luck to all those stopping smoking which ever way you choose.Grocery Challenge Sept 2021 £95.40/£500

4 weeks patches/oral spray £359 not spent on cigs!!!
You know what, keep bickering... I'm done with it. I can see both sides, but u still want to keep it going on and on, which is a damn shame after how long this thread has been going. Especially since it's probably been here since before there was such a thing as Ecigs.
I'm here to get advice on stopping smoking, not bicker with you on the rights and wrongs of ecigs. Or who said what, and who didn't say that.
So I thank all you righteous people who are more interested in bickering than supporting people. We've now lost one of the best advisers the thread could have had.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Lol I agree the movies are a defiante cure for insomnia:rotfl:Some of the actors in the secondary parts are extremely charming to meet, especially Charlie Bewley (Demitri) and Christopher Heyerdhal (Marcus) they had me in stiches one weekend 2yrs ago
Yes lets carry on beating the dreaded weed in harmony........... after all to quote David Cameron:mad:.............. "we are all in this together" loltotal airhead, total bimbo, very superficial:D0 -
Seriously though, I can put one of those movies on and I'm asleep before we've been introduced to Charlie :rotfl: Before the birthday party :rotfl: before the meadow scene :rotfl: before they say I do. As to what happens after these events I have absolutely no idea :rotfl:
Anyway, I hope that we've just set and example on how to agree to disagree and the thread goes back to being the happy stress free (to an extent without the fags!!) place it once and should be4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
