    Hi all :)

Needstochange - I had an awful cough all week and I really don't think my chest could of taken any more of it. I woke up on Friday morning and decided that I wasn't going to have a cigarette with my cup of coffee before work as I normally do and I stayed that way all day - I didn't actually plan to stop, it just happened that way :)

Shell78 - Google stopping smoking timetables and have a look at what you have achieved physically and emotionally hunny :) Also have a look at this http://quitsmoking.about.com/od/goodbyeletters/Goodbye_Letters_to_Cigarettes.htm - I particularly enjoyed reading 'My Darling' :) Hope it helps :)

Well I'm at 60 hours now and my chest is starting to feel better :) I also feel more relaxed :D

    Feeling good,whoo-hoo :)

    Hey folks

Now Lotus-eater. Maybe its time for a van clean :rotfl::rotfl: I thought I was bad :D

So Saturday has been and nearly gone and the major focus of the day has been ariel and comfort. So much to wash that stinks :( not only will i remember the agony of cravings but probably over and above that I will remember the agony of finding drying space when even the outside line is full :rotfl: and tomorrow there's more

Been out with a friend for lunch and ate for Britain :o (this needs handling as of Monday I cannot let this love of food continue at this rate or I will have literally a bigger problem to cope with )

Tomorrow brings on an exciting day of more washing and chucking windows open in every room no matter what the weather. Admit it you're all jealous :D

NTC maybe coming out of the misery at last

You see I won't even put the bins out on Sabbath and like never do the laundry so no sympathy there :A

But like well done you...How many days it is now? I have found this cheap yummy no smokes treat. the sugar free drops from markies...various flavours...you can have a packet a week for about 80p :)....get them every thursday at volunteering :)

How is DNMS haven't heard from her for a while? Is she still CT? Or back on the smokes? What about the other CT folk? How is everyone doing on NRT....?

Where is Sue more to the point....

The medic off inside health off radio 4 is now trying the e-cig :)...yay.... (sorry to wind folk up who hate them)...I know...he emailed me :)

This is normal about the 2 month mark. Have to say even on e-cigs I caved in at this point for a day or two but then got back on the horse and didn't smoke again and it'll be 6 months on Wednesday :j...

Not speaking from experience but I've heard other's say these killer cravings only last a few days. Read the beginning of this thread and PM sue if you need one her pep talk emails...

You see I couldn't even do 20 hours never mind 60 pre e-cig :(. I would just climb the walls into a different country (pretty literally) and every medic would tell me to go back on the cigs :(...so hats off to you. Hope you can keep it up :T

I've noticed since using the ecig with various juices the inside of the car doesn't pong as much, or pongs slightly of more agreeable scents. Still need a scrub, though, and I'll be out with the Oust and Febreze when the weather's warmer.

    Morning All :)

I hope you have all had a good weekend and are doing well with being smoke free.

NTC WELL DONE! You have done it, it is a great feeling isn't it to finally achieve something you have thought about many time but always thought would be next to impossible, when you actually get to a few days smoke free it sinks in you have actually done it, it is a great feeling :)

A big well done to everyone else as well, it is hard whatever method you use so staying smoke free is a huge accomplishment :)

Today is 2 weeks for me, 2 weeks I cannot believe it! Friday and Saturday were both horrendous days though, I was tested to the absolute max both days but did not cave in, I really wanted to though if I am being honest :( Stress, stress, stress, children doing everything they could to be as annoying as possible, my darling wife also having moments of weakness and feeling negative so this resulted in us ridiculously arguing which made things even worst! Terrible couple of days, they really were I sincerely hope I have no more like them, I am amazed I did not give in and have a fag, in fact after I had finished dragging the kids and my wife around Tesco on Saturday I was that miffed I did actually go to the cigarette kiosk and buy 20 Benson and Hedges and a lighter, the walk from the kiosk to my car felt like miles, all sorts of thoughts and feelings running through my head, clutching the cigs and lighter. I got to the car unwrapped them, took a big smell of them and put them in the door of the car, I knew I did not really want one, but on the other hand I did and badly!

I popped 3 pieces of chewing gum and drove home, by the time I got home I realised that having one was not the answer, I did not want to spoil all of my hard work in getting this far so they remained in the car door pocket until yesterday when I took them out and put them away with another packet if cigs my wife left when she quit and my old tobacco tine full of tobacco! I was going to throw all of this out but my thinking was if we both remained smoke free even in the moments of madness when we both knew cigs were just in a cupboard, easily reachable, we would somehow be stronger quitters, a bit of self psychology probably nonsense but it made sense to me :)

I am suffering from terrible heartburn though :( Have been for a few days now and I have some tablets of the Doc I take every day for heartburn as well and these are having no affect at all, going to give it a few days see if it clears up if not off to see the doc.

We all started a family healthy eating diet today, thought we might as well tackle everything in one go and get it out of the way  That went down like a lead balloon with the kids but they will thank us in the long run, we are all on the large side and need to shed a good few pounds so this is now the new family challenge for the next few months.

Farzackerly I do not know where you live, but in Wayyyyels it has been lovely and sunny and mild for the last few days, I was out in the garden yesterday planting fruit trees and some other stuff, it was a lovely afternoon, don't put it off get out there and sort that car out, what can be done tomorrow can surely be done today!

Right that is it from me today, glad to see the thread has got back to normal, come on Sue me love I could have one with some of your encouragement over the weekend I was looking for you, I hope all is well with you ;)

Have a great day quitters :T

Phew Underpressure you had me holding my breathe there, so glad you managed to stay strong and didn't smoke those rotten cigs afterall. :T

They are just not worth it and you would have felt so gutted afterwards.

Go and donate those spare ones to a homeless person on the street or something, get them out of the house asap.

I'm on 6 months e-cigs now. Six months since I stopped smoking, I'm so chuffed.

I was outside talking to my BIL yesterday while he was having a fag. He refuses to give up or try anything else (e-cig basically, he won't even try mine and looks a bit bemused as if I am using a toy :D he did say it smells alright though). He really enjoys smoking, he says.
I was trying to explain why I had to give up, my doctors kept warning me and when I got to 40 and still hadn't given up, I was told it's now much more serious.

But for me, it was when I woke up and had no breath to breathe out, I did an impersonation for him and I think it got to him a little. But I think he's going to need a health shock the same as I had, to get him to even want to do something. I can imagine if I was in his situation, I'd probably be the same.
