  • Another milimetre easier today. I did actually manage to concentrate at work for a while which I have been struggling with which is a good job or I may well have lost it :D

Now going through the "smelly clothes from previously" thing someone was mentioning a few days ago. I had a jacket on today and you would swear I had just had 20 fags in it. Slow process but I think everything is going to have to be washed

On a practical note has anyone any advice on the removal of the stench in the house/car. I am doing the window thing when i can and washing as much as possible but just wondered if anyone has any amazing smoke absorbing products :o:o:o Its so not fair having given up and yet smelling it loads :D

So off we go into my first weekend as a non smoker :T lunching with a very anti smoking friend then cleaning to rid the smell for the rest of the time probably

Have a great Friday everyone and thanks again

16-8 2011 last fag gradual reduction coldish not a lot easy to handle turkey.

I think you are amazing the way you decided to quit, the build up to the 29th I could not have attempted that. WELL DONE YOU.

I cant offer you any advice about cleaning your place other than masking the smell with aerosols until you are free of the weed, then to decorate.

One piece of advice I can offer, wake up,clean teeth, squeeze the juice of two limes and drink. You might win a gurning contest but you wont fancy a fag at the most vunerable part of the day.

    Day 58 - quit using an e-cig

Hi Needstochange - well done on day 3 under your belt. You may find things continue to get progressively easier from hereon in but be ready for when this addiction decides to throw you a curveball in the shape of a shi**y day full of temptations. Make sure you have a plan to deal with this so you can bat 'em off one by one, knowing that they may come. Other than that, these three days are definitely the hardest so you've done brilliantly and the worst is over.

I bought some febreze pump spray for pet & tobacco odours I think - it was certainly a heavy duty version and sprayed the car from top to bottom and that seemed to do the trick. it's a bit more difficult with clothes that you can't wash though and I took my best coat to the dry cleaners as it smelt a bit rank. On the positive side, you've a bit more money to do things like this or even treat yourself to a new one :-)

Well done again :-) /big thumbs up!

The most important thing to do is stopping smoking!!! It doesn't matter which method you use if its affective then that is the one for you. So come on everyone take a deep breath and feel that clean air racing through your lungs, and enjoy your freedom, have a wonderful weekend and a smoke free life.

Well said Viva :T You are so right, it doesn't matter what method anyone uses - all have there pluses & minuses. The main thing IMHO is for everyone to find the method that suits them the best :) Hope you also have a wonderful smoke free weekend :)

If you can open the windows.....wide for a few hours...Found that did it for me and it's free :)...(though you might need the febreze for the car?)....

My van still smells a little of fags and that's 6 months down the line. Mind you I've never given it a clean out since then and still have empty fag packets in the back.... I think I may have some butts around as well.
Maybe I'm not the best example then :D

  • Hey folks

Now Lotus-eater. Maybe its time for a van clean :rotfl::rotfl: I thought I was bad :D

So Saturday has been and nearly gone and the major focus of the day has been ariel and comfort. So much to wash that stinks :( not only will i remember the agony of cravings but probably over and above that I will remember the agony of finding drying space when even the outside line is full :rotfl: and tomorrow there's more

Been out with a friend for lunch and ate for Britain :o (this needs handling as of Monday I cannot let this love of food continue at this rate or I will have literally a bigger problem to cope with )

Tomorrow brings on an exciting day of more washing and chucking windows open in every room no matter what the weather. Admit it you're all jealous :D

Hey NTC, well done! You are lucky that you can do something about the stink, my OH is still smoking so a bit of a losing battle here! Although, like Lotus Eater, probably time my car got a good clean, it pongs!

Discovered another benefit of being a non-smoker. The childrens photos can be displayed on the mantelpiece without keeping the plastic bag on them to stop the brown sticky stuff from ruining them. And they look so much nicer without packaging on them. Shame I've noticed that the whole fireplace needs a nicotine deepclean...

Keep it up everyone, it does get easier.
