Needstochange - if I am nice will you post the r4 summary later as I might miss it? As in IPM..I might be at volunteering/in hospital with an infection/a+e (with the infection - don't go there - it's sore)...
And I was on Newshours on the wild service last night. I tweeted them and now the bushhouse mice are following me ;D...and they read it out.....:)
Wow...were you on IPM last night? Or did you just do a leap day?
So tired...only 4 hours sleep last night and being prodded and poked this pm - head in antartica...

hiya peeps... a few weeks no see..!
Well, i find myself back in the quitting diary.. having amassed a wonderful 52 smoke free days i have come here to admit i smoked =/ after all the trials and tribulations, stresses and strains that were involved, i caved in..
no excuses i know. but it did take a car crash at high speed on the motorway to tip the balance.. after stepping out of the car completely (somehow) unhurt, me and my gf went to a pub to wait for our lift to collect us and so we could have a stiff drink.. it was then that i caved in... stupid i know.
The next day i couldnt half tell that i had smoked, it was disgusting, i hated it.. but still my timer starts again.. so here we are on day 4 and looking to rejoin the ranks.. on the plus side, im more determined than ever and know that although i slipped, it took a lot for it to happen and hopefully can stop someone else from the same little weakness insde that caused me to fail..0 -

* hugs* - hope you're both ok
As regards the naughty smokes - just get back on with quitting - we're only human & as long as one slip doesn't lead you back to smoking properly again - give yourself a bit of a talking to;) - but don't beat yourself up over it.
Good luck

Hi Guys and Girls,
Good to see this little (hah) thread as busy as ever with so many people doing so well in their individual quests to kick this habit!
Just thought I would drop in to see how everyone was doing and to let you all know that I stopped smoking almost five months ago now, using Champix and have not looked back since, such a great feeling to be free! I read a lot of horror stories about side effects before I started taking Champix, but thankfully I was very lucky and can't actually point to a single adverse effect!
Really chuffed to have joined the ranks of the non smoker and try my best not to look at those poor souls still smoking with scorn! :rotfl:
Must dash for now, love and best wishes to you all. AndyProud to be dealing with my debts

Hiya Erme
Well done you for being on the newshours :T not me Im afraid i am not brave enough to go on radio 4 and Im not sure they would consider it that much of a leap, but it is for me of course:)
On pm tonight was the blind lady who rode a tandem with one of the radio 4 people, the man who got the bus to this town after 4 years in the house, a lady who went out without make up and lots of engagementsGeoff the bus man was a real inspiration for me he did it by the way but then had a panic attack on the way back. He did so well to get as far as he did :T:T

See if you look at that on the positive you stlll didnt smoke for far more time than you didIt was that same weakness that happened for me a couple of years ago after having been stopped for so long. Its taken me this long to do it again so for me now the rule is NEVER EVER EVER i so do not want to go through this again
Anyway Day 2 as good as gone and it was a slither of a millimetre better today but still horrid
Looking forward to not feeling this anymore and getting on with being a non smoker29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -

Splendid - yes, you are a non smoker :j
Within 48 hours of your last cigarette, your ability to taste and smell things improves and the nerve endings affected by nicotine start to re-grow.
Hang around for about 5 years and I will be able to tell you that your risk of heart disease ad early death are similar to that of people who never smoked.:)
Thrilled to see you at the end of the second day of freedom. I hope you are going to spoil yourself at the weekend - you deserve it. Try to stay away from smokers and take lots of exercise in the fresh air. A brisk 10 mins gets rid of the craving and shifts the gloom.
I have to admit to shedding a tear tonight when that wonderful man recounted his bus journey. Isn't amazing how powerful the support of strangers can be to someone in his situation? I do hope that he continues to improve.

BruceWayne, thank you for dropping in to tell us of your success with Champix. There are a few folk using it as their method of quitting and I am sure they will be encouraged by your words. Not too sure where they are at the moment......
=boo= What an awful experience! So pleased that you are okay, both of you. You don't say what method you are using - cold turkey? Keep us updated - at least this time you are prepared for what lies ahead.
parkfoot, so pleased that you made it through to another day without caving in. Keep reading the threads - 1, 2 & 3 and you will a non smoker in 10 weeks, for that special day. I swear by goals as an aid to keeping going.
Well done everyone :T :T:T:TI am a non-smoker :j last cigarette 10th February 20100 -
