Evening everyone, I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and a good day.
You and your Wife are doing so well, UnderPressure!!! Marvellous news of you both. Most of us women blitz through the house, destroying any smell that may have the nerve to linger. Mainly though it's because we can sniff it out a lot easier! It's amazing how far smoke travels too, hence her finding it upstairs. Still, a good time of year for spring cleaning to be done too! Please wish her well as she's doing so very well, just like you!!!

You've got all the pills, weight, back and gym sussed out and how after building up your muscles and losing weight it'll be so much easier and less painful for your poor back. It'll be interesting to see how much you lose and in general how much better you feel with the loss of the cigs and weight. You'll soon be a new man with so much to live for!!!

Excellent news about the money saved!!!! Let the wasted cash go, we all have to do that and there's not one of us that, after stopping, doesn't wish they'd never, ever seen a cigarette in their lives..or had given it up years before! I did, but there you go, it's gone - BUT - we're still here!!!!! Look to a far better future with much better health!!!

    Be proud, both of you!

Excellent news, xmercx!!! :T:T You've done well in keeping yourself motivated with the redecorating, nothing quite like it for staying free. So sorry to hear about you having lost your job, I really do hope you can find another swiftly. Still, at least you're not still paying out for those nasty white things!!! :j

I'm really pleased your sleeping's much better, but make sure you keep up the course of pills!

    Sue x

Congratulations PIC, that is absolutely fantastic!!!! :T:T Keep hard at it and never forget, we're all thinking of you and willing you well!

Hiya Chrissie! I hope you're still enjoying tap dancing. Good to see you again...though I haven't a clue how far away from those nasty little devils you are?? Not that I'd say anything about it apart from.......

Could you all please kindly pop your time gone (free from actual fags) and the means used on your Title Bars?
It's not just for me (as if!), but to help us all in knowing....others watching in too; it helps them decide what they think's best for them.

Thanks so much everyone and keep right on as you step bravely along your journey - it's the best one you'll ever make!

Hi Smiley, I have been really lucky and not had any of the side affects, I am pleased about this as I had read so horror stories. I am going to mention it to the quack tomorrow, if I can come off them I would rather I am taking that many pills at the moment it is a wonder I do not rattle when I walk :)
I am really pleased my wife decided to quit as well, although I was not overly bothered by her smoking around me it is nice to have a completely smoke free home, for the first time ever!

    Hello Sue :)

Yes for the first time in a long time we seem to have things sussed so to speak :) Life for once seems quite positive as though things are finally moving in the right direction which is always nice.
No use me dwelling on the money spent but it is a hell of a lot more than I ever imagined I got a genuine shock when I worked it out I could not believe the figure, what a terrible waste :(

Never mind lesson well and truly learnt now.

I know there are a couple on here about to take the plunge, best of luck to ya and keep us updated, one of the things that helped me was reading so many wonderful posts and stories on this thread, it is great to hear so many people are kicking the habit as well :)

Anyway keep up the good work fellow quitters

Good to hear everyone enjoying being free and handling any cravings it gives me a lot of faith in the decision :) and looking forward to being part of your gang.

Everyone I know pretty much now is aware of my goal even a couple of people at work who are just dying to see me fail so that in itself is enough to keep going to spite them :rotfl:

You will both be fine, trust me if I can do it anyone can!

Remember though, do not feel deprived as though you have sacrificed something, do not be mopesy and depressed that you are not smoking, if you are then it is almost 100% certain you will fail!

Embrace it, be happy you are a non smoker, be happy you have finally quit and are free of the weed once and for all. Whenever you get a craving smile and think to yourself I have done it, I am a non smoker :) Remember it is all a state of mind, it is only as hard as you want to make it ;)

Go for it you can do it both of you
