Be careful about reducing meds, Erme, hadn't you better seek your Drs thoughts first?

Re the coffee, I was meaning cutting out for at least a few weeks, but I guess as long as it's decaf it's not so bad. Beware is all I'd advise.

    Sue x

Saw pdoc this pm. Mentioned I wanted to come off it. He said very slowly. So he said reduce in a week's time and then reduce again every 2 weeks until I'm off it (lowest dose possible to reduce by)....Not happy but what can I say? Mentioned the shakes I keep getting if I have too much....also the caffeine which he is keen for me to come off after my holiday episode....

I've actually only had like 2 strong cups today and I feel fine (normally I'd have had at least 4 by now)...so stick @ my new found freedom of 2 cups a day and then go from there..

Hi rizla and brilliant news on the 50 days free!!!!! :T

A great idea to Lily too! Likewise it works the same way and for longer with Ice Pops/Poles, perfect for the job, though I'd never argue against yours! :D

    Sue x

    Nope you're right.

    Men drink - Women suck!

LOL - Take that whichever way you want. :) :A

    Hi Ruby.

The bad dreams seem to wane after 3-4 weeks so you dont have long to go.

I found a bit of Rum/Hot Milk works well.

Slept well with no dreams after one of those. Helps you to catch up the missing zzzzz. :)

  • Hello everyone i havnt been on in ages but had to come and say that in just under 4hrs time i will have been smoke free for 1 whole year :j:j:j

Just wanted to say a big thanks to sue, dundeedoll and everyone else on this thread for helping me. And to anyone who is starting out, keep going it really does get easier! I remember this time last year how much I hated myself for smoking, i felt guilty everytime i smoked that i was going to leave my children without their mum and even worse it would be my own fault! I hated having no money to treat the kids cos i spent it all on cigs. I can remember reading posts from people saying that they had quit for a year and I thought id never be able to do it but here i am! Just take it one day at a time, it really does get easier.

And even better news is I am expecting again! Hopefully we will have our new wee bundle of joy in april time!

Thanks again to everyone on the thread i couldnt have done it without you all!

  • good evening peeps

great to read how well we are all doing :T:T:T:T

i have reached as put in the title bar 1 month , 1 week 1 day with a saving of nearly £150 wow thats gonna really enhance my tight budget and gonna get the kids some extras for christmas that they havent put on there wish lists as surprises

am doing just fine and rarely think about them these days and certainly DONT miss em , am saving more as i'm

not driving 10 miles each way to get them when ive run out

then pcking up extras at MR T as i was kidding myself it was stuff i was needing but couldnt admit i was really just going for smelly fags

my car has regained its fresh smell , and certainly notice when others have been out for their fix at work

i have written down ALL the reasons to STAY quit for good and reasons why NOT to have "just one "

    we can all do this

any lurkers come and join us and look forward to a smoke free xmas , what better gift to give yourself and your family

just to mention the silkquit download if anyone hasnt seen it t will tell you how long you have quit how much you have saved and how how many you would of smoked ( always an eye opener ) and importantly how healther you have become
its worth downloading it and may give you a boost if ever tempted

    JD xx

  • Thank you jammy! I remember you from before! I see from your sig that you maybe had a little setback? correct me if im wrong its just im sure i can remember you quitting around the same time as me? If so I just want to say something that i rem reading on here 'never give up giving up' or something like that lol! I think that this is maybe the 12th time I have gave up :o I have quit before but this time feels different. I think I have just got so sick of stopping and starting. When I told everyone I had quit this time, they rolled their eyes and i knew they were thinking 'oh how long will she stop for this time' but I know they are starting to realise I meant business this time lol!
    Well done to you :T:T:T
