  • Hey Guys,

Just nipping on to let you all know that today is my 1 week mark!!! (Well it will be at 12 anyway). I am so very surprised at Allen Carr Easyway as it well……has been easy!
I haven’t had any cravings as such, the thought of having a fag has popped into my head once or twice (more so out of habit I guess) but I just stop and think about it instead of ignoring it like I used to do. I think, ‘if I was to have a fag now, what pleasure would I gain from it – none’. I know that it would hurt my throat, smell vile, destroy what I have already achieved and probably make me feel sick and dizzy. That is enough to put me off again but as I said it has not happened very often.

I haven’t had much time lately to get on here or read through all of the thread but I just want to say a huge thank-you to everyone on here. Sue and dundeedoll, your words of wisdom are inspirational and to everyone else, well you all keep me sane with stories of strange dreams and climbing the walls. Makes me realise that I am not the only one.

For anyone new trying to stop smoking can I just recommend Allen Carr Easyway. The only thing I would state is that you need to sit down and really digest what he is saying in the book. I dedicated a morning in bed when I was loaded with a cold and it was the best morning off work ever. Get the book out at the library and give it a blast, at the end of the day what have you got to lose? If it doesn’t work for you then all you have lost is a couple of hours of your time.

Good luck everyone, keep at it x
    Just little old me!

Apologies Catherine, I was so taken up with you having reached your YEAR mark that the expectation of your little one totally slipped my mind!! Anyway, you both enjoy looking forward to him/her....there's nothing quite like it!!! Af32uDHCANInAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC

Thanks for that DD!! I hope all's well with you, but if it isn't that it will be soon.

Hiya JD, Well done as you journey on, with the new car too! A definite for staying fag-free for sure!

Re the "Sealed Pot Challenge" there are only 13 days of saving left, then on the 1st December we all empty em out, you, DD, Larmy and caracara (and others here)included and I'll be waiting for you [URL="http://https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3314530:grinheart

Hello and a very warm welcome, bargainbunny! It's good to see you've been inspired by the thread. Well, you've done it once so you know it CAN be done, stuck to as well if you really do have the determination, and I'm sure you do. :D Read through the PM to find a few tips. All best wishes with the Zyban and being free from fags FOR GOOD!!! ;)

    Sue x

Excellent news Viv, what better screen saver could you want to push you onward. You're doing marvellously! :T

Hi Erme and well done you! Don't be concerned with the Baptism, I've been in touch with Him. :) Keep up with the no fags, caffeine-free lifestyle and you'll soon be a new woman! :j

    Sue xx

Fantastic news, lily the pink!!!! :D Re the smoke of others, aren't you sorry for them already? They too could be in their way to a new life IF only THEY had the courage YOU have! Most smokers had the 'fag in the car' habit, but you soon forget, especially if the car no longer reaks of em! Put some music on and have something in the car that's sweet selling. Well done Lily!!!

    Sue x

Terrific news, Chrissie!!!! :D What a wonderful thought to push yourself on with too; I really look forward to hearing from you next Christmas! :T Don't say too much to your DH, no doubt he'll soon get motivated, you will be inspiring him on! ;)

    Sue x

That is fantastic news, kahunababy!! Your first real benchmark to chalk up!!! :T Another one to add to your list is "it won't be filling my lungs with the smoke either"!

    Sue x

So there you are, those who are lurking and thinking "I wonder if I could.." another personal recommendation is the...

    Allen Carr Easyway

....and as kahunababy says you've nothing to lose by reading and fully digesting it and trying, but you've your life to gain IF you try!!!

All best wishes to all those quitting - to those who don't think they're quite ready yet also. Be strong! :D

Och I've lost track of what I'm on...

I think I'm hooked on nicorette nasal spray now :(....just can't live without it :(

Had terrible cravings for it last night...was practically inhaling the bottom of the bottle.....

So whilst coming off the e-cig I reckon will be relatively easy when the time is right - the nasal spray will be completely different :(

You need time and patience with yourself, Erme ~ BUT ~ if you really do want to quit it once and for all, you will, I'm positive of that. You know I always bang on about the importance of water, but try rizla's idea of really cold water at the time of a craving, I think you'll find that'll help. Having plenty of water will help your immune system too and don't forget Ice Poles!

    Hugs, Sue xx

I'm actually thinking once I get over the caffeine withdrawal to do a serious spray withdrawal too :)

Just gradually reducing :)..currently I use it about once every 2 hours....I can maybe gradually extend that? whilst also reducing my e-cig....

    Thanks for the help

You've got it Erme, little by little..and you will get there. However, rather than using it about once every 2 hours, try spacing it to once every 3 then 4 etc.

You have it within you, Erme, we all do and you're no different at all.

I'm saying another for you tonight. :)

popped back to say it one year tomorrow since I gave up, it is no longer part of my life. I am so happy I've done it, when I used to read others on here saying they had done a year I wondered if I would make it.
    Keep going everyone.
