Hello and a very welcome, ellionic! You sound as though you're getting on amazingly with Champix which is terrific news! Yes, never take them on a near empty stomach, try after a meal and you'll be ok.
Not many women on here have reported having the dreams, only the men who've desperately wanted to hang onto them!!! We won't enlarge on that!!I hope you've nipped your lad's intentions firmly in the bud and that he NEVER does so again!
Well, you sound as though you're doing really well so keep up the great work, and please.....no matter for what reason DON'T ever be tempted to have just one puff/cig it'll only end in misery!!!
At 31 you have a whole lot of living to do, so stay healthy and keep looking ahead!!
Sue x
Absolutely right JD, keep right on pushing ahead!!!

Well day 2 of the Champix tabs - not had any of the weird side effects yet - but then for first three days you are on a tiny amount - so maybe i'll start when the dose ups
However - i am smoking less - at least half of what i normally would - cos they taste weird - not necessarily horrible - just odd, and i find i'm just not feeling the need to constantly light up (bonus)
Not sure if it's the Champix - or in my head (you know if i've kinda convinced myself i don't need em cos i'm taking the tablets)- but it's helping. Roll on day 8 (next Tues) - official quit day...0 -
Hi again smileytiger, you sound quite excited about the way things are going which is wonderful, it truly is a very exciting time of your life too, a new life just as it used to be years ago! Some of it may be 'in your head', but Champix work in a way that gradually makes them distasteful to folk; whatever it is it's marvellous!
Always make sure you have the pills after a meal, that way you should be ok re the nausea.
All the very best C!

One of the things I have done is take a photo of my leg and used it as a screensaver on my iPhone, so every time I use the phone I see my leg, which reminds me of why I stopped smoking in the first place! I was in pain walking because of a circulation problem and my Doctor warned me if I continued to smoke I was risking losing a few toes or a foot or maybe my leg well that has provided the motivation I needed.
The wonderful thing is I can now walk pain free, and I am much healthier all round, and if that wasn’t enough I also have a lot more money to spoil myself so all in all it’s the best thing I could have done! Stopping smoking has made me feel really good about myself, and the freedom it has given me is absolutely fantastic.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs

Hi Erme, I'm so sorry not to have been here for you at your time of need. I was so sad to see you'd gone back to having almost a 1/2 oz of baccy. Not sure I know about that and the sugar levels, but I believe you Erme so know worry on that score.
Re the eurozone, though I'm blowed if I'd call it the anti-christ. Try to leave the euro to the politicians Erme and don't think too deep, there's little point in doing so. I'm sure your Dr C was injecting a little humour into the situation so dn't worry about him either. In fact life itself just isn't worth being fretful over; my dear Mum always used to say "you die if you worry and you die if you don't" and she was right.
As a smoker I used to worry myself sick about all the evils and harm of fags and, like you, I smoked roll-ups, so not so many perils as in tailor mades. Since I quit I've been freed of all that worry and now when there's a crisis looming over DH & I or our DS & his wife or DD, her DH and their family, I send up a prayer and from then on I do not worry about it as we all need to look at life in a "well, what's the worse that can happen?" way.
I've said it to you before Erme and I will do so again, please, please don't worry about others and their opinions of you, rarely can we change flk, nor they us, so try to live and let live...better still ignore em Erme! You're a lovely lady with a LOT to offer, be happy with you as you are; we're all God's children and he loves you, you know that and He'll help you through the fags too as he wants you healthy!
Love and Hugs, Sue xxxxx
Very well done davey!!! Don't forget now, whenever you come on...I'll be watching - so will JD!
Viv, your post was a real delight to read, to know that it's really meant by you is so good too. You've done excellently and I'm sure you're as proud as it's possible to be. 44 days free is splendid and I'm so, so chuffed for you! :T :grinheart

I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of you might remember I was here a few weeks back now and I fell off the wagon, made a half hearted attempt to jump back on then sloped away quietly. Well today I am back and full of enthusiasm:D
I was sent home from work early today with a rotten cold and decided to spend the morning in bed with Mr Allen Carr:rotfl:
Now I had read his book last time but I didn't really take it all in where as this time I read and digested every bit of it. I came down and had my last fag at 12 lunchtime. I really concentrated on that fag and no matter how much I tried I could not find one single thing I enjoyed about it. I could however find loads of things I hated about it and me!!!!
Anyway, that was over 6 hours ago now and I haven't even had a pang, I only remembered to come on here and let you all know when I seen this thread in my subscribed list!
Got to shoot now but will check back in soon xxx
Well done to all those fighting the good fight:DJust little old me!0 -
hi kahunababy , a warm welcome back armed and dangerous and ready to kill old nic once and for all :j:j
we're all with you 100%
can you recall what triggered you re starting ? and have you made preperations to avoid if this happens again
i've not read mr Carrs book myself i thought it was the comedian people were speaking about , but i think thats two different folk :rotfl: and maybe that mr carrs first name is not allan i do get names in a muddle and dont watch much tv either
keep in mind all those reasons you thought of when smoking your last and leave em in a prominent place just to remind you of all the reasons to quit and STAY quit
whatever way your choosing to quit YOU CAN DO IT , stick with it , stick with us read back on other posts for inspiration , motivation and support
big hugs and hope you are feeling better soon
