    Yep I did it...

tried to build a tank (£15+) out of plastic bottle...needless to say when I filled it it leaked....all over hands and stuff....oops... Wasn't sure if it was leaking or not (how can I be so dumb!!!!) so didn't really get it washed off in time

So now hormonal on 4 hours sleep LOL

    Anyone want to be me?

one month 1 week 2 days. Patches/ Oral combo

lol Erme, poor u, but i can just imagine u trying to get it all off ur hands, running around doing the headless chicken routine! I honestly don't know how people survive on that amount of sleep. I count myself as one of the lucky ones, always sleep good, sleep more when I'm ill and try to sleep through illness. It has it's downsides too, feel like all I do is sleep at times.

JD - :T:T:T:T:T:T You've done marvelous! Keep up the good work :T:T:T

O2BFree - How are u doing hon? Hope you are staying strong thru this horrible time. If not don't worry, u can always start stopping again at a better time.

Well, went for my physio appointment yesterday, was absolutely dreading it, cos I've had another fall and done other shoulder at weekend. So have been lazy on shoulder front. So she done a spinal massage instead of the usual exercises. All I can say is WOW!!! Was bl00dy sore at the time, but the relief I had in shoulder and hand yesterday afternoon was amazing! Bad new is, she suspects I've got arthritis in many of my upper joints, and a few lower ones. Funnily enough, she doesn't think there's arthritis in shoulders, which is what she was treating :rotfl:

Off to take the happy pills and head out with my sis for a wee shopping trip and some lunch. Raise your glass  to another smoke free day :beer::beer::beer:

    Today is day 40!!!

Yep just short of 7 weeks. Still on the patches although I hardly notice them, and it’s only because I’m typing this that I’ve just realise that I’ve forgotten to put today’s patch on. I rarely take the micro-lozenges, so it seems as though I’m well on the way to kicking the habit this time.

Obviously today is a good day for me, I hope that everyone else is having a good day as well, or at least making the best of things

Yeah part of me is hoping my lil mama tank from the states doesn't come today (though it's due any day) in case of repeat...can survive one night no sleep - not two LOL

And I didn't even tell you about the process of making the tank (that leaked NOTE leaked!!!)
    • Firstly I had to 'saw' (well I used a kitchen knife) the top off just past the child safety protruding bit....
    • Then I had to get an old mouthpiece and bang it right through (top to bottom) which half bust my cutting board LOL
    • Then attempt (think the optimum word is attempt) to put two or one wee holes in the mouthpiece at the bottom (don't know what I did wrong - it just flooded it) with a nail or screw (more banging with the hammer...very fancy - if you bang too hard you bust it but I think that's more a chap risk than wee me tee hee. Till you hear a popping sound...be warned it rolls!!! going to try home made jig out of sellotape next time (sellotape the mouthpiece to the craft table :D)
    • then the guy said to just shift the plastic bottle (e-ciggers have loads of these...it was only a 5ml bottle) away from the mouthpiece (with the mouthpiece in.....with your finger...well obviously I couldn't do that so partially removed the mouthpiece to make a hole to start filling with a syringe

Then bung on your e-cig and that's when it started leaking (well when I raised it to my mouth) :rotfl: 5ml all over my hands in a matter of minutes (which I didn't notice for about 20 mins )

Sue I'm sending your cupcake in a jiffy bag... (wait till she gets back and reads this :A) - so it's nice and crumbly :D....just right for the possums...

getting there and thankfully feeling as determined as ever not been tempted at all , and glad i wasnt joining the throng of smokers outside the exhibition centre at glasgow yesterday ...more time for browsing inside in t he warm and watching the demonstrations at the good food show

erme you need to be careful , is it really worth all the trouble making your own devices ?? only you can decide which suits your method of quitting but i wouldnt advocate this route, can you not use patches or lozengers , there are many safer alternatives to stopping smoking if you want nicotine replacement , and would recommend others persue these

to those reading these posts and havent stopped yet , i would encourage you to either chat with pharmcist or see gp re help available and smoking cessation groups , stopping smokng is the best gift you can give yourself and your family :)

have a fabulous smoke free weekend whatever you are up to

keep up the great work ,

great to see you doing so well too daveys, carcara and mazza111:T:T:T:T

I will not go the pharamist till my nic/ml concentration is alot lower than it is right now as I will just get psychotic with the lack of nicotine. Hence I chose the e-cig. My weaning from my nicotine addiction in my time :T.

I did go the pharamist about 5 or 6 times but I just got psychotic even on the strong stuff with the lack of nicotine. Everyone said to go back on the cigs at that point :(...so I'm quite happy with the e-cig...

But yeah - no more self made devices :D

Pic of new contraption to follow. Cheapo 18650 battery mod (3.7v) with a lil mama tank from the states...Cracking vape and bliss. Slightly messy (bring on the baby wipes) but still. Slight pulava with getting the holes in the cartos (mouthpieces) so have ordered a saddle valve for piercing them (should give me more control and make the whole thing easier)...had the monies in e-cig fund....I figure it's as cheap as getting through a real of sellotape every two secs LOL. But had a real hunt for saddle valves...how come they are like $3.99 in the states and yet £11 over here  Should last me a while though and quite happy with the small tank :T

And yes quite tired today following lack of sleep (haven't been out of the house yet  and haven't got the windows open - sure that's not healthy but soooo tired).. so just taking it easy

Hope they have good weather in Tamworth for vapefest :)

    hi ther part mouse

great on your desicion to want to quit this life consuming addiction

dont worry about starting up again if you really want to succeed you will , we are in going through what you are experiencing and KNOW how tough it is , but hang on in there it is so worth it

how are you planning on stopping cold turkey , nrt ? what ar your triggers ......

cravngs are nasty but truly they dont last long ( though i know it doesnt feel like it at the time ) distract yourself go for a walk do something with your hands , knit , wash up , or have a shower / bath

take sips of cold water too or others ( me included ) have sucked on ice pops

take each day /hour / minute at a time tell yourself you wont smoke today but if you choose you may do so tomorrow be aware too of what triggers your cravings if its routine ...i do such and such and have a fag , can you change your routine slightly so you dont associate your smoking with a certain task

come back on here and we will support you all you want , feel free to rant and rave

it is so worth it dont ever give up the giving up , you WILL get there in the end

welcome to a smoke free journey
