Shadydaz - That's the general idea! Open the bag and u won't want a cig!
Jennyo - Keep it up!! How long have u stopped for?
*EDIT* just seen your signature *D'OH* Can't wait to say I've stopped for that long
Kahuna - As Davey's said, don't beat yourself up about it. I've lost count of the amount of times I've failed to quit. But end up back here when I feel the time is right. If you feel u can go cold turkey then feel free to do it, but remember there is help available if u need it. Although, I still think most of it is psychological (eek big word alert!). When u see that I've saved 8 days of patches in the space of a month.... But when I know I've got my patch on, I can give it a wee rub when I want a smoke and it reminds me I'm doing the right thing :rotfl:
Well I've been to the doctors, just wish my appointment was for yesterday so she could have seen me in as much pain as I was in, she's changed all my medication and signed me off "work" for 4 weeks, which is a bit iffy as I've been out of work since i got medically retired from being a postie back in March. Seems I now have to bite the bullet and come off of JSA and go onto ESA for a few weeks anyhoo. So I'm armed with some fresh NRT, co-codamol, amitriptyline and naproxen. So hopefully the new combination should sort things out for me. Still unsure about the amitriptyline with them being an antidepressant too, but I've been in so much pain over the past few days I'll try anything.
Onwards and upwards!!! Keep up the good work everyone4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Urgh! Oh don't shadydaz, almost makes me want to join you myself. :undecided Good to hear about the lung function test shadyaz and your results! Still, you sound as though you're doing something to regain them - what means is it..a nebulizer or gym work...or???
We all start to develop problems from our 30s onwards so, good job you had the test andcan work at getting it back. I'd love to know the means as I know from my nebuliser that mine's low too! Thanks so much for putting the post on as it's very thought-provoking.

Thanks a bunch for that Maz, I hope I don't think of it while I'm having me tea! Still, if it serve the purpose....keep sniffing! _pale_ Don't worry about not having used some patces Maz, we've had loads of folk who forget them, then find they don't really need them. Congratulations on such a brilliant milestone!!! :T:T:T Your 1st month FREE is huge!!!Well done!

daveys, that certificate is a fantastic shot, subject too! It's really worth hanging up as a stark reminder. Take note too of shadydaz post to keep you from ever going back! Terrific words to kahunababy, very wise advice indeed, thanks sooo much.
Some lovely photos of Hull too...how about some autumn shots with the camera?? If you don't mind me asking, who do you have your web site with??

What!! NO money in the Sealed Pot Challenge, JD?!! Don't you fret (not that you are!), better to have NSDs anyday!Incidentally, I forgot to wish you a wonderful time with your friend, yesterday, but I do hope you have the very best time and thoroughly enjoy it all.

Hi kahunababy, it's really good to see you back and ready to try hard again. Yes, it's such a shame about thinking 1or 2might not make a difference, but at least you know now that it's never worth it, also you know you have that weak point, so whilst you're vulnerable - give alcohol a break. Speak with your Dr and go from there, but AC has great success!
Apart from that I couldn't possibly add anymore to what daveys has said and you have some cracking advice from him!!! :T:D:T |BTW kahunababy, you haven't let your kiddies or your OH down yet. You will crack it and I'm sure in your heart of hearts you know that - so don't feel bad! Oor support is always here!
Hugs, Sue xx
Hi jennyo! Many conratulations on 11 months FREE from fags!!! :T:T:T:T You've done just wonderfully and I'm hoping you're really, really proud of yourself. Don't worry though as we all wish we'd stopped years ago, it's only natural, but be happy and so proud! Please keep us updated with your progress as it's a massive moral booster for those in progress.

Hi everyone, I won't be here for a few days as I'm going in hospital for an operation on my shoulder tomorrow, Thursday and not sure when I'll be with you all again. However, I'll be back on my "speech to text" system just as soon as is possible.
Whatever you do folks, please stay true to your dreams of being smoke-free! Everyone CAN do it, you're all proving the point!!
Take care JD, I'm glad you're back!!!

Hi Sue - hope your operation goes well, will be thinking of you. I'll try and get on the thread this next few days while you're gone. Am just recovering from a nasty episode of shingles  And even though I've been in pain (still am to be honest) and bored, haven't thought of smoking once!
take care,
Pam xx0 -
FANTASTIC news Pam, thank you so so much!!!! Oh you do have my sympathy, a friend's mum had that and was in a LOT of pain. Do take care and rest well.
Hugs, Sue x
By the way davey, to answer your question; there's definitely a Techie board, just scan halfway down the main Forum, you can't miss it. It's a good one too, and they always need help - but then so do we!
