Day 7 on Champix still smoking as much but the cigarettes are becoming a little more unpleasant to smoke I know this time I will have to stop smoking for good I don't want to lose my leg or any other part of me. So from Wednesday I will be a non-smoker besides the heath benefits, there will be of course the cash savings thats £40 a week it will make a big difference to my cash flow it will mean I will be in a better position for holidays etc, so I am eager to stop! Wednesday cant come soon enough.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
Well I'm 18 days and still nauseous...:(...
I had a lousy birthday - only cheered up by x factor
And now I have to figure out how to save the planet from the conspiracy.
Going to do my weight loss from tomorrow onward by logging calories and trying to menu plan, drink my 2 litres of water, possibly exercise and like go from there....
Just need to find the cable for my walkman/get an arm band for my phone. Walkman needs charging
Apparently after 2-12 weeks exercise gets easier on quitting the cigs...So I guess I'm about the right time
Interesting article on weight gain and AD's here
wonder when MSE towers will let us put links to youtube videos on here
Anyhow best go and open the windows and let some air - forecast a gorgeous week here...

Hi I am on the same journey as you its day 5 for me on taking the Champix. I will be stopping on the 28th, I feel confident with the aid of the Champix. I am doing a list of the things I plan to do once I become a non-smoker, I am eager to stop now but I will follow the instructions it will only be a few more days! so hold my hand and let us go on this wonderful journey together.Viv
Hi Viv
I am on Day 2 of not smoking and actually I feel pretty good. The cravings are very few and far between and are quite easy to ignore. I just hope it continues like this.
I have read your story and my heart goes out to you. I am so happy that you went to the Dr and are taking his advice. Cigarettes are not worth risking your health for! So stay strong and remind yourself why you must stop smoking.
I have bought myself a sealed money box today, one of the ones you have to smash to get the money out. I will be saving my cigarette money for a family holiday next year.
I, like you, was beginning to think ' this is not working' when by day 7 I was still smoking as normal. However, as each day went on I began to realise that actually they didn't taste the same, and then I was leaving longer butts and then just kind of 'forgot' to smoke. By yesterday, I just didn't want to smoke and the thought of it actually made me feel ill!
I will keep my fingers crossed for you and will be thinking of you on the 28th. I would be honoured to hold your hand on our journey., At times it will be tough but with the support of all the wonderful people here we can do it.
Lucy

Wednesday will soon be here for you, Viv, the start of a whole different and much better life, far better health prospects for certain. If you need a hand counting your cash..........!

Lucy (davesdaughter) and Viv, it's so good to see you've teamed up together, I'm sure it really will help you to help each other and, in turn, help yourselves too.
All the best,
Sue xx
Hi there Erme, sorry to hear your Birthday wasn't a geat day, but if X factor helped make it for you then that's good. All too often it's just one thing that 'makes it' for many of us. At least a few of us here wished you a good day for you.BTW, what makes you nauseous? Or is it the vaping? You're going to save the planet from the conspiracy???? A good week forecast for us all - after tomorrow at least, enjoy it Erme.
Hugs, Sue xx
There's no reason why it shouldn't continue well, Lucy, the success rate with Champix is excellent. The only ones who have problems are those who have adverse reactions to it, so all should be well with you - be happy you're stopping!
Sue xx
It's lovely to see you back again, Dom.Not to worry too much that you haven't stopped, so long as you've cut it down a lot, that's GOOD! I have my own tale to tell about cutting down and got right down to 2 a day before I knew I could then do it - and I did - 12 & 1/2 years ago!!! There's plenty of hope for you too, Dom, you'll see!
All the very best and keep the determination alive and well,
Sue xx
So very many congratulations Carl!!! :T:T:T:T
You've done marvellously and I'm thrilled to bits to see you back again to motivate everyone and show them that it really is possible.
Please don't forget us Carl, it's always fantastic to be reunited with someone who'd done so well....enjoyed the journey too!

Patches and oral nicotine (mixture in short doses)
Day 14 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j
Been quite a tough day today, went shopping, out for lunch, but since after dinner all i've wanted to do is munch munch munch. But I've made it thru another day :j:j:j:j:j
Remember if you are just about to stop smoking to get rid of all your smoking related stuff. My fella still has one pouch of tobacco to go thru before he stops, but sometimes the temptation is too great! Can't wait til it's gone. Used to love the smell of a freshly lit cigarette, but his rollies absolutely stinkDidn't realise how smelly I've been over the years. I have however emptied an ashtray into a sealable freezer bag and kept it under the sink, now when I'm tempted I go and sniff that and it soon puts me off!!! Extreme, I know but as a 40 a day gal, needs must
Erme - Sorry u had such a pants birthday, but hopefully the birthdays to come will be healthier and happier
Lucy - I felt exactly the same on Champix and was the most successful on them. That's the way it seemed to work, unfortunately I had an adverse reaction at a rough time in my life or I would have loved to have had another go on them. Everything can taste considerably different on champix, especially strong flavours like coffee and cigarettes. Well done so far, keep up the good work :T:T:T
Off to supermarket in morning to stock up on fruit again, seem to be going thru mountains of it atm :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Keep going everyone!!
I am now 25 months quit smoking. Meant to write on my 2 year anniversary but got caught up somehow!
I quit with Champix (fantastic) and I know that if i even have one sneaky puff on a fag that will be me started again! It is soooooooooo worth it not to smoke!!
Good luck everyone!

Morning all
Well today is the start of day 6 :j
My cravings were at a all time high yesterday, it was all im seemed to be thinking about  but i know from past experiance i cant even have 1 fag, or i will be throwing the towel in and back on 40 / 50 a day again in a flash
While i was out and about yesterday, it seemed like everyone was smoking, and i kept getting a whiff of cigs, unfortunatly im not yet finding the smell of them disgusting! quite the opposite.....
Ive got my newleaf appointment today, im looking forward to blowing into the monitor thingy, last week it registered 50  stupidly high.
On the plus side, my munchies haven't been to bad of late
I cant remember if i already said my OH also stopped at the same time as me, well he seems to be doing just fine, he is using patches alone.
Hope everyone is having a good dayEveryday im shufflin' Proud Padder ~ All Hail The Power of Pad0 -
~Well done misskaytee. Have u considered using the oral spray instead of the mints? Seems to kick in faster when u get the urge
Another good motivator is silkquitmeter http://www.silkquit.org/stop-smoking/quit-meter.aspx which can really show how much money you're saving. You've come this far, keep it up and if you got thru yesterday when you were really craving, then you can get thru anything :j:j:j
Well done to your OH too, maybe he was a lesser smoker than you or a different type of smoker, some of us rely too much on nicotine (me more than most)!
Having a mega bad day here too, could sit and smoke a pack of 20, stressed with kids and other stuff going on that's beyond my control. So trying some deep breaths and sucking on a very low nic ecig4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
