2 Weeks 2 Days Money saved £199.39  Patches/Oral combination

Very well done to you, Maz!! BTW, how far are you now? Could you kindly pop it and method/s used on your Title bar to help us all, please?

Normally do hon, that was just an extra wee post to encourage Misskaytee :rotfl:

Today has been relatively easy :eek:had a few puffs on my ecig. Nothing more than usual. No internet here today as Virgin Media were *improving* my already great service:rotfl: So have busied myself with preparing for a bbq tonight, building a patio set, putting together the new bbq. Before I realised it, it's almost 4pm and I haven't had a patch on since 8 pm last night:rotfl: Makes me wonder if it's all kidology or not. Don't want to put one on now til morning just in case they are stronger and keep me up tonight :rotfl:

Misskaytee : Always great to see your CO2 levels dropping. Had such a dramatic drop in mine too when I stopped with champix. Didn't have it taken before I stopped this time, but at last count it was 5. Which isn't too bad as I live with a smoker. But hopefully it will go down further when he stops :T

Erme - Dunno what to say.... keep yer pecker up, yer ecig topped up and your nose smelling that perfume!

Well back out to the garden bench to have a coffee and watch the world go by, I was destined to live somewhere hot instead of bl00dy Scotland!

hehe - No idea, didn't even notice the hiccups were related to that until i read the side effects :rotfl: Never usually read side effects of medicines unless i have an ailment, never beforehand. The occasional spray I've had has been ok tbh, maybe it just takes a while to get used to it :)

    Hi All.

    Just a re-cap.

I have smoked for over 40years.

Decided to stop because I recently had a bronchial infection and had my lungs x-rayed.

They were clear but to tell the truth, it troubled me a little and as I have two lovely little GD's. I owe it to them to hope to see their offspring (They are only 5&7).

Smoking might not kill me but it could make life unpleasant and I hate the thought of not being in control of my body.

So, no excuses (I'll do it later! or Nows not the best time, Etc.)

Three days ago (Monday 10am) I enjoyed the last fag (Yes, THOROUGHLY) and if I light up another EVER then I am a smoker for ever --- OR I have stopped for ever.

Smoking is now a thing of the past!!..(By the way, since I rolled my own, baccy prices meant that my habit was costing around £6 per week, so THAT wasn't good enough reason to stop).

Also, if anyone is interested, I attended my local Boots clinic who, as you probably know, offer asistance for free, and I have a couple of packs of unopened 25G patches that I will not need, if anyone in the SS4 area can make use of them.

    :)

    Terry

    (I'm a bloke BTW) :)

  • Hi all

Thought I'd pop in to give you an update. Yesterday was a pretty tough day. Had a few really strong cravings. At work it was fine - too busy to think about it but when I got home the evil cravings came with a vengence. So I did the huge ironing pile that I've been ignoring!

So this is day 6 and I'm feeling very positive. The only downside is the sleep problems - hence posting at 6am!! But I'm sure that will sort it's self out eventually.

    Hi everyone

I'd love to join you all if that's ok. This is my first day and I'm quitting cold turkey.

I've quit smoking loads of times, the last being for 4 months earlier this year. My problem is telling myself I can have 'just one', which is obviously not possible for me, and relapsing back into 20 a day. :D

My reasons for this quit are:
    • I'm noticing changes in my skin, wrinkles apearing, I'm 38 and this is freaking me right out. I KNOW smoking will not be helping.
    • To save money
    • I'm really busy just now and smoking takes away my energy. I need all the energy I can get
    • I've had a sore throat and a cough for about 4 days that just won't go away
    • It's a smelly habit
That's about it for now. I'll have a look back here later when I get the chance. I'm wondering whether to save my cigarette money to buy myself treats or add it to the debt pot? What do other people do?

Have a great day everyone. :D

Funnily enough, although a smoker, I always saw the people standing outside various establishments, as similar to alchies. Weak, sad & pathetic and all huddled around the bottle.

Day three here and well done others for quitting. I hope that you stay strong.

2weeks 3 days £208.41 not spent on cigs

Felt I done really well yesterday without my patch on, considering it's only 2 weeks. Not going to risk it today tho, sticking another one on right now. In fact, I will stop typing and go do it!.....It's not easy being a scatterbrain like me :rotfl: Starting to feel really positive about the whole stopping smoking thing now. Although, my jeans are getting a wee bit tighter:( This can be tackled at a later date tho, now that the weed is kicked :) The problem with losing the weight with me is the exercise. Have arthritis in both knees and feel it starting to set in in elbows and shoulders now, one of my hips too BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! So swimming is really my only option, and it's such an effort to get to the pool, the hassle of trying to get changed, trying to get out of the pool etc.

    Anyhoo enough waffle!

Fireyfaerie: How would you feel sitting in the pub as those around you go out for a cig? Smoking is very social and I've always missed this aspect of it. Could you perhaps go powder your nose whilst the others are having their cigarette? Then u will notice how smelly they all are when they come back in :) Btw think it was a dodgy spray thing that was on one of the quickmist bottles, have opened another one and that was fine, it's more of a squirt than a spray so is more directable so to speak lol

ani*fan. Good luck, I'm sure sue will give u a warm welcome soon along with some welcome advice :T

Davesdaughter :T:T Another day through bad cravings!! Well done, the days of cravings become lighter the longer you go on, especially on champix.

Rizla :T Another day out the way. With each day it gets easier (or so they tell me )

I want one to 'see what it tastes like' but praise God I had a horrid dream 2 nights ago where I was @ Ma's house and like just had a roll up in the middle of the night and was horrified at self.

    So no more for me...

Am actually using a combo of spray (nasal) and like e-cig...try to keep my sprays to a minimum but still...

Worried I'll give in to temptation this week. So hoping I won't...think this week is going to be tough...but not as tough as weeks 6-8... they are really tough...

Though have been through a lot past week or so so may explain why my nicotine levels are somewhat down...

Congrats to everyone whose quitting :)

    :rotfl:

Feels the same as yesterday, to me.:)

Not good but I thought it would be worse.

Someone told me that every time you feel like a fag, rub the patch cos this circulates the chemical quicker.

Also I was told to put patch behind shoulder on the back. Dunno if you all do the same?

Like I said, I never bothered so I don't know anything about them.

I prefer to put my patch on my thigh rizla. Only because the bl00dy things don't want to stick to me. My jeans help them stay on :rotfl:
