  • Back again!! :o

Feeling postive that this time its for good! :)

Today is my 2nd smoke free day, im using 24 hour patches and Niquitin mini mints, and sugar free polos!

Got to say i found the mini mints more useful than the inhalators i tried using in the past.

Im trying to do whatever it takes to quit smoking, i dont seem to have done much more than eat and sleep for the past 2 days!!, luckily ive got a quiet weekend ahead so will be taking it easy and nursing myself through those first few days :)

I've struggled with the munchies, so much so, i felt sick yesterday i had ate so much, i was stuffed! im trying to eat healthy, im a Slimming world member, and have lost a stone so far, i decided that over the next month i will be happy if i can continue to follow the SW plans, and maintain my weight.

I did a 20 min Jog on the Wii this morning, i didnt feel like doing it, but knew i had better, it seemed like hard work compared to a couple of days before, but i will keep it up :)

Is it usual to feel more tired than normal?

I will pop by each night and keep updating on my progress. :)

1 Week 4 Days £137 Not spent on smokes

Erme - That's serious vaping!! lol. As I'm on patches, I'm only using mine for the occasional hit and something to do with my hands. Or when the patches fall off as they normally do and are unstickable again (ie: when they fall down the loo when going for a widdle!) Never thought of using a flavoured liquid other than the b&h flavour :rotfl: The shop in Argyl street isn't there any more. Was there last xmas :(

Those starting on champix, i had more success with that than anything else, just bad timing and a lot of stress going on in my life at the time. Set your date and stick with it. You may find yourself going off strong flavours like coffee, I know i did, good luck with it :)

Well I'm now 17 days on e-cig...can't wait for my chanel no. 5 to come :T ....and it's my birthday...

Feeling particularly nauseaus - don't know why - think it's anxiety as have had a lot of stress this past week or so...don't know...

Shame about the shop in Argyll st...believe me I'd have been there...has it moved or just closed down?

There are so many flavours on e-cig to try...I like cherry and banana cream and oh you so can't beat a decent vanilla (though not an ice cream vanilla)...

So yeah the sun is out and quite shocked at self for hoovering the other day I think I might hoover today too...it looks really good with the floor hoovered :)

off out to a nature reserve with the students later :) - pray the sun stays out

  • Morning all

Feeling a bit more on top of things today, not been too bad with the cravings this morning :)
I have managed to not eat excessively, just a banana and fat free yogurt so far, although i am about to make some bubble n squeak from last nights left over veggies ~ Very OS.

The dog enjoyed taking me for a walk round the field this morning, taking in the autumn sun was nice and refreshing.
I think today is going to be a good day :T

Brilliant news shadydaz!!!!! :T:T:T Keep it together this time and kick away any of those 'thoughts' which you know only do you harm and lead to the whole thing sarting over again. I'm hoping that your wife just might keep you on track better as you won't wish to feel as though you may be letting her down too. She too is doing herself proud, you both are. Have a great holiday and enjoy yourselves with your cash! :D

Hi there misskayte, it's lovely to see you back with us and if you keep half as determined asyou sound then lets hopethis IS the time! ;) I'm so pleased to hear the Niquitin mints are more benefcial to you.

You really sound as though you're doing all you can to take your mind off it all - and to keep the weight off. I always feel that if folk can concentrate on the weight just as much that it benefits with stopping smoking. Now you're doing both and that to me sounds marvellous!!!

You're not the only one who's initially said about feelings of tiredness, I think it affects us all differently - though you sound as though your exercising very well so are you sure it's not mostly down to that? Maybe you should ask the dog!! ;)

Keep it up and stay strong, kaytee...it really can be done, keep telling yourself that YOU can do it too! :)

    Sue xx

Hiya Erme! I hope the weather stayed good for you and that you had a good time whatever your the weather. Apart from what kaytee says I couldn't see your Birthday at the bottom of the main board, but she obviously knows it is, so.....

    A Very Happy Birthday
to you dear Erme, I hope you have a lovely day and a very good year.

    Hugs, Sue xx

Hi Viv, all you're reporting is exactly what others on Champix describe, so....you're normal! ;) A better life is waiting for you.

  • Hi all

Today was supposed to be my Quit Day but I actually stopped yesterday! Thursday I only smoked 4 and most of them were vile, Friday, smoked only 3 and only managed to smoke them half way down and yesterday I just didn't want to smoke!!

I did get a few cravings yesterday but nothing that I couldn't ignore even when DH lit up while we were out.

The only problem I am experiencing with Champix is the very vivid dreams, and disturbed sleep. I keep waking at night and am up very early in the morning.

So please keep your fingers crossed for me. Thank you for all your support and encouragement. Coming here and reading all the inspiring posts is such a boost to my confidence.

Hi davesdaughter, wonderful news that you're already a day ahead in having stopped!! :j It must be a huge benefit in the taste dwindling down to virtually nothing.

Try not to concern yourself with the sleeping pattern being broken, the vivid dreams also. We've had folk on here who really do grow to love the dreams so look forward to that time! ;) More than that don't ask as I haven't a clue! Ride the storm DD, you'll get there soon enough.

OK, so today is Day 2 of Champix, could I please ask you to kindly pop the days free of smoking and method used on your Title bar above each time you come on the thread? It's a real help to us here to know just where you are, it also helps you keep track...others too who are following your journey as lurkers! ;) Thanks so much and very well done on taking such a HUGE step to stop!!! :T:T

Keep it up and you'll soon be chuffed to bits at how well yo're doing. Fingers crossed for you for sure, but I think that, deep down, you're really pleased with all you've done..keep yourself reminded of that - go forward and be PROUD! :D

BTW, Viv is also on Champix ad stops on Tuesday. You can read his full story on the previous page it may even help you.

    All the very best,

    Sue xx
