Mostly what's advertised here now are the Niquitins.

Had to look that up too, which is why I tend to still hang about in UK-centric websites like this. :rotfl:

Things here are a bit weird, very often we're behind and in other things we're early adopters used as a test case for marketing purposes. We're one of very few countries in the world where direct advertising of prescription medicines to the public is allowed and I have never figured out why that should be. Unfortunately, this means we have with adverts for Vi@gr@ and the like being beamed to our TV sets every day - yet thinking about it, I can't actually recall seeing adverts for any nicotine replacement products. :(

Still, in to day 3, and remaining just as positive as I was on Monday morning, and hopeful that today will be another good day, the sun is shining, which for Scotland is a miracle in itself at times!

Yep, you have to take the small pleasures such as a bit of sunshine, whenever you can. We had a bit of sun today and I just sat at a bustop for a few minutes at lunchtime to catch some of the warming rays. Was lovely!

Bad things like sitting on your glasses and emotional turmoils seem far more amplified when you're first off the fags, so good on you for remaining positive.

When I said it was hellish, I meant more my day in general and not the non-smoking. A close relative is in our local hospice and experienced further complications (a stroke) coupled with trivial things like traffic diversions and falling asleep on my glasses and breaking them in to three pieces, just meant it was a rather testing day!

Still, in to day 3, and remaining just as positive as I was on Monday morning,

Oh by the way, I am male! :)

Oh my word, Bruce, you can definitely refer to that sort of day as being hellish...no other word for it is there! I really do hope the relative is feeling more comfortable.

Ah you're a male then Bruce, well, to be honest most guys find it a lot easier than we girls, so let's be hopeful of you proving that to be the case. Focus on all positives such as "the sun is shining" Every little or big positive is us thinking of something other that what we've lost.....

......in fact it's facing up to the far, far better life we have to look forward to - a much healthier life! Please Bruce, keep right on coming here and chatting, it'll help show you just how far away from the old life you're coming. BTW, could I ask you to please put "Day 3/4/5 using Quickmist" on your Title bar, it helps us to know where you are, it helps you too.

Thanks a lot and keep up that great work. :D Don't worry to much about the sprays, just a rough idea helps you and us the further away from fags you come. It helps you in knowing when to wean yourself off a little too, though that won't be yet!

Hi Kiwi, good to hear you've got the sun in winter too. I was quite shocked to read about the advertising of prescription medicines on TV in NZ. I hear so much about men only ever thinking of one thing, sounds like they're insisting it stays that way where you are!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Look after yourelves everyone. You ok Tricia? I certainly hope so.

Yiiippppeeee Kiwi!!!!!! :j:j:j Very Many congratulations on such splendid news!!! :T:j:T:j:T I forgot to ask you how long you'd stopped for when replying to Bruce the other day, maybe just as well as the impact on seeing your terrific news today wouldn't have been quite such a thrill as I'd have been expecting it. I hope that comes across right to you.

Anyway, suffice to say, I could NOT be happier for you Kiwi!!! What a long, long way you've come and I know so well just how proud of yourself you must be right now. Brilliant news!!!!!

BTW, if you're at 6 months then surely DNMS must be passed 6 months!!! Where are you determined??! Forgotten all about it I'll bet!

Anyway, GREAT news Kiwi and I'm delighted I was here to share it with you - I only came on to read a bit of advice for my friend, good job she asked!!! :D Errr..what was it?? ;)

And GO BRUCEY...for the quick mist :)

    Just read that :D

Yep I had a 3 day relapse last week cos the turnigy and I fell out and after spending £10 on various bits of kit @ M the electro store I decided enough was enuf. Stuff DD..I'm getting a cheapo charger..

Two chargers later and we're back in business. Also I prayed about it and decided to get another wee beauty....I think it might get named the TB from a guy whose just lost his job and has gone into business making mods. Of course being an 'ex-MSE' girl I got a good deal :D

So yeah costs slowly going down. Am mad panic saving for holidays soon and OD is so sick I'll be on £20 for food and misc a week the whole of august  and at least two weeks in September :(

Good news I now have voluntary work at Christians Against Poverty doing admin starting after hols and am waiting to hear about volunteering for the local credit union. :)

The e-cig forums are like so addictive I barely miss MSE...it was hard at first (don't think it was so much the other thread's fault as me being hormonal and paranoid combo....though do disagree with some of their ethics. But they all have me on iggie now as is so no point in going back :(. It was great whilst it lasted. Still taking lessons from there though even now. Like the other day I got sensitive toothpaste for 40p a tube cos it was going out of date and today I got 3 litres of milk (UHT) for 26p each cos it was going out of date in about a week :D).

I've had my whoopsie spends. I always do...But it's nice now the pressure is off....

I got an audition for the apprentice (Lord Sugar) and promptly spent about £70 or so on bus fares before deciding I wasn't well enough to go ...that sort of thing happens. I deal with - pay it off - get over it. Please don't judge me by it

Batteries were dead as dodos...I got some slightly more expensive ones and they seem fine :) At least I didn't pay a fortune to find out :)...

Some folk on the e-cig forums are loaded!!! Like they'll spend £200+ on an e-cig (just the body I think? not sure) and then get about 3.....

For about £150 I got 3 e-cigs, chargers, batteries and half a fridge of juice :). That'll last yonks!!!....

So yeah going easy on the e-cig stuff now. I realise I don't need the latest mod made in someone's bedroom just cos D has gone one (he must have enough for a museum LOL)..... or cos 'it looks cheap'...which is a blessing

So yeah that's me.....I might pop back from time to time - we'll see...

Och and btw 2nd or 3rd week of e-cig did 3 lots of C25K and one aerobics class and a 40 min round walk - promptly went and pulled a tonne of ligaments in leg and ankle :(....so the when I'm recovered going to just do C25K for a while :)...PG I didn't pay for gym membership this month :)

Many congratulationsto you on being 6 months down the line DNMS!!! :j:T:T:j By heck it's so hard to believe you started on your journey a whole 6 months ago. I used to be very envious of others who'd given up for quite a while when I started out first, but after a while you almost get the feeling that you've caught them up!!! :D

Thanks for that Kiwi...or maybe not! ;)

Hi again Erme, good to se you back...though maybe not for long by what you've written. Whatever you decide, keep up quitting, it's never worth no doing and at least ten you'll have money. Don't worry about anyone judging you either, we don't do that here, we've no right and neither has anyone else! :(

I'm sure she didn't forget...I'm sure I read something about her going running now she's off the cigs.....I want to do that too when I've healed...

Thanks Sue for the lovely pm etc...

Today I had a revelation (kind of started last night with a cartomizer crisis - they just wouldn't vape - the cheapos @$5 for 5 LOL - so in the end bunged a single coil on - at £7 for 5 plus postage tad more expensive but I think they last longer. Cartomisers don't last very long :( unless you barely vape. PG I have 3 e-cigs to help me figure this out. That's the thing about an e-cig - you need a spare)

Put the single coil on the TB (the one I got on friday at a good price)..suddenly learnt all about throat hit LOL..couldn't figure out what half the planet on the e-cig forums were on about throat hit for? I mean to me an inhalator is an inhalator in any form. Nice tingly sensation on your tongue which tells you it's working and that's about it...that's the most important bit for me. I need the psychology of knowing I'm getting nicotine :).

Cough splutter, cough splutter, spaced out head LOL

So yeah...today erme has learnt about throat hit :)

Thanks btw for your lovely PM Sue...do you want my email addy hun?

I really don't have time for MSE with the e-cig forums now TBH...I can spend all day on them near enough LOL...(more procrastination :thud:)

And savings for hols look peachy...if budget goes to plan I may even be able to PAD on OD straight after :) (not optimistic on this one. Budgeting seems to get left behind on hols :()....

    Everyone have a good day

    Erme
PS. the messy cartomisers problem has been solved with a drip tip...first week or so I was filling tiny cartomisers every am and putting them in bank bags with a bung on the end. VERY messy ....then some kind soul sent me a drip tip. One 5ml bottle later and I'm sorted...Just top up when I need to by taking off the drip tip....Someone on my old thread had the cheek to say they were only doing that so I'd buy more - the wifey who sent me a drip tip wasn't even a vendor!!! Got some spares cos they were cheap enough though...But I was lucky in that the first drip tip I tried I loved :)..so no major expense there :D...E

folks, unfortunately my relative who was in the hospice passed away over the weekend, and I have relapsed back to smoking. I am philosophical about this relapse and won't let it discourage me from starting back as a non smoker in the next day or two once the rawness of this loss has passed me by somewhat. :(
