Thanks DMS! I think I had to have that relapse because now I really am more determined than ever! I didnt even enjoy those cigs and I could smell them for hours and hours... I felt horrible, guilty, weak and really disgusted with my myself! I felt like I had let lots of people down although you're the only ones that know about my trip up :D

About a diary... hmmmm I will think about that one... depends if anyone is interested in reading about a newly single girl who's feeling rather sorry for herself! :rotfl:

Thanks again everyone, Tricia, thanks for keeping me going too! xx

I know that feeling Slugger!! It will go away in a few mins...

I feel that too at times but because I hate myself so much for having a relapse I actually feel worse about cigs now. Nasty nasty horrible stuff... keep coming here to get over your cravings x

    Hello Everyone

Apologies for not posting for a while, have been reading everyones posts. You are all so encouraging here, even for us (me ;)) who are still enjoying this magical journey. It's so nice to see new people on here, a  for you all for making one of the best decisions of your lives, giving up smelly nic! You'll find the cravings will eventually leave you alone and you'll have days where you won't even think of cigarettes. I used to wake up and think of cigarettes first thing in the morning, knowing I had given up. Now I wake up with a spring in my step~a born again spring chicken :rotfl: Honestly, I have at least an extra half hour spare in the mornings before work. I can get washed WITHOUT wasting 10 minutes having a ciggie before washing, I can get dressed WITHOUT wasting another 10 minutes having another ciggie and I can have a cuppa and go anywhere in the house with my cuppa WITHOUT wasting yet another 10 minutes smoking at the back door. I'm no longer chained to the back door with a ciggie :j

Strange thing though today, as I was walking through The Liberty, Romford I had an almighty urge to shout 'I AM NO LONGER A SMOKER!' Bit concerned there for myself :rotfl: It's weird I want to tell people (strangers) that I used to smoke but don't anymore....'looks over shoulder for men in white coats to take me away'

Today I was in a meeting at work and sat next to a smoker and I could smell it and it made me feel yuk!! I will now take a moment to apologies to all those non-smokers that I sat next to and breathed over with my smelly 'perfume', especially my DS who has put up with my 'habit' over the years..Why did I never 'really' listen to him when he asked me to give up?? Guess nic had more muscle than me back then..

A BIG plus for me I have put on nearly half a stone :j:j I don't know where the weight has gone because I can't see it (as such) I think it's gone to my feet and I am slowing filling my body up with FAT!! :rotfl: (for those who don't 'know' me I want to put on weight, a big thing for me..)

Anyhow guess I should leave space for others to post.

    AZ xx

Ok,so I' on day 5 now and very happy!!! After I dropped my son to respite this afternoon I went and bought some pampering bits in town with money I'd saved not smoking:D

Got back and nipped to my dads...had the first cup of tea I've had this week (haven't made any as always smoked with a cuppa so gave them a miss, apart from green tea to boost my metabolism-yuck!!!) and say next to him while he chain smoked. Not once, despite drinking tea and him smoking, did I become tempted:eek: Infact, the smell and taste of his smoke wafting towards me was pretty horrible!!

I did,on the way home though, after a little bought of coughing, toy with the idea of buying 10 and having one to stop my chest aching:rotfl::rotfl: Was more an actual 'well that would stop it' thought rather than a craving.

This is a lot easier than I thought it would be,I've had no real cravings, had one day where I was a little on edge but that's it :s

HSmademyday.gif So very pleased for you.............see, it wasn't as frightning as you feared.

    :hello: Lucy

Well done you for getting back on track....remember just a blip thingy that happened. I know sometimes it can seem really hard but just having 1 or 2 always manages to lead to more :( back in early February I bought 10 just to have that 1, I actually lit it up and choked  so they all went in our dog's poo bin in the garden, there was no-way I was gonna dig down THAT bin for a ciggie..

Are you using an Inhalator? I found that really helped big time and you can 'smoke' it anywhere ;) in fact I still use it now and again with the patches.
Once you get past the horrible cravings Lucy, you'll find that you actually enjoy a lot more things in life..I mean did you know twix's taste like nuts? Maybe that's just me and coffee I never liked coffee now it tastes so nice. And it so nice not having smelly hair and spraying yourself to disguise the smell. I go to work not worrying about stale smoke.

Thank you for your lovely reply to my post, it's so kind of you. I could never have got this far in my quit/journey without the kind, wonderful people on here. I've tried every way possible to give up in the past, nothing worked except the inspirational people on here.

    Big Hugs to you Lucy

:hello: Hi everyone and welcome to Fatcatt. AZ I read some of your postings from way back, good to see you back and smoke free.

It's good to hear that people are doing well. Is Kiwi around? I haven't seen a post from her recently. If you're lurking, let us know how you are doing, Kiwi. We worry when 'one of our agents is missing'. :D

Have a good weekend everyone, I'm off to finish making bread and start a BIG pot of veg soup.

    Remember, NOT ONE PUFF!
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?
