    Hi everyone! (Thanks Tricia)

I have tripped up!!! :(Very very disappointed in myself

Don't know what else to say other than tomorrow is another chance to rectify things x

Now there is an example relating to my previous post!

Blips happen. If we were all :A we wouldn't be here in the first place.:D

    Nothing's impossible I have found,
For when my chin is on the ground,
    I pick myself up,
    Dust myself off,
    Start All over again.

Don't beat yourself up. Just learn from it and your example will help someone farther down the line.

I can't see the 'dodgy hugs' smiley or I would send you one :D
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

    hi lucy

most of us have blipped at least you have decided not to make it permanent , ( I started after 9months of doing soooo well after my mariage split up but am here again and 3 months + fag free )

take stock of why you felt you had to light up and be prepared if the situation or cause comes by again ..old nic wants you to believe its a solution and is your "friend" will make you feel better ..but it never does ..pick yourself up and a fresh new dawn awaits ...and if you have any fagalia lying about chuck it away ( in water ) again a lot of us have rummaged even in bins to get the wee blighters after they have been disguarded ..

we are all here to support you

    JD xx

    Thank you JD xx

  • hey lucy try not to be hard on yourself as JD & Tricia have said most of us have had slip ups. I smoked 2 cigs at the beginning on Feb but like you I decided it wasn't going to be a permenent thing and got right back on that horse! I took a good long look at what made me smoke - under too much pressure at work - and decided I needed a new way of dealing with it and put it into place. Haven't smoked since and am managing the work pressure.

Good on you for getting back on it! x

:hello::hello: Pleased to 'see' you. We've a lot of people who used Champix on here with great results. Do post any queries you have and someone will have the answer. You will find reading back through previous pages (if you've a month or two to spare, of course) will give you lots of tips and make you realise that we're all in this together.

Well done Lucy. :T:T I never doubted that you would be back quickly. It does make you realise what a hold it had on you, doesn't it..

I'm lucky that I'm not around smokers much but this morning I was at the doctors (for the first time in 2 years) and I was horrified at the people desperately having a drag outside before going in - and the smell of them inside :eek: Did I really smell like that??? (Don't all shout "YES" at once.)

They say there is no one more fervent than a convert :rotfl::rotfl:

I will be celebrating my 12 weeks smoberversary tomorrow. I know what I won't do - I won't stand out in the freezing wind puffing away on a filthy white tube of paper with dried leaves in it.:j:j:j
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?
  • 18 hrs 39 mins patches

Hi! Started on patches from the docs today. I was on around 20-30 a day and have been smoking around 15 years now, which makes me feel sick thinking about it. Feel totally fine so far but I am waiting for the awful cravings I have had in past attempts to show up... nothing more so far than a subconscious oh I'll have a fag now .... uh no actually you have given up! My plan is to keep myself occupied to keep my mind off things and let myself eat whatever I want, gotta be allowed a treat or 10 right?!

Well I hope to be able to join you all in your success, I know it's early days but I feel positive that I can do it this time!!

Ok,so I' on day 5 now and very happy!!! After I dropped my son to respite this afternoon I went and bought some pampering bits in town with money I'd saved not smoking:D

Got back and nipped to my dads...had the first cup of tea I've had this week (haven't made any as always smoked with a cuppa so gave them a miss, apart from green tea to boost my metabolism-yuck!!!) and say next to him while he chain smoked. Not once, despite drinking tea and him smoking, did I become tempted:eek: Infact, the smell and taste of his smoke wafting towards me was pretty horrible!!

I did,on the way home though, after a little bought of coughing, toy with the idea of buying 10 and having one to stop my chest aching:rotfl::rotfl: Was more an actual 'well that would stop it' thought rather than a craving.

This is a lot easier than I thought it would be,I've had no real cravings, had one day where I was a little on edge but that's it :s

  • Hello irishgirl & fatcatt  (totally cool addys btw) & welcome. Excellent decision to kick the beastly habit! I really think whatever means you choose will work as long as you're determined. Sue will no doubt send you a lovely email with lots of tips but drink water, do a bit of excercise - walking, running, gardening whatever works for you - and reach for the satsumas and not the choc in the first couple of weeks & months and you should be able to keep ur weight under control (its not aways a probem for ppl on here but for me in the past I've not felt good once I put on weight - one attempt I gave up cigs & took up walkers crisps! :rotfl:)

    good luck!

shegirl get u 5 days and back on the tea already :rotfl: well done for not going with the cig thought ut be careful/on ur guard around smokers for a while. Good on u today x

tricia happy 12 week smoberversary tomorrow! x

just got ack from a jog/walk. first time I've been running on the street for a month or so and I was nowhere as good as I was before :o need to do better if I'm gonna do the race for life!

    Happy weekend everyone x
