Hey all, is there a giving up alcohol thread on here?
Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task

enjoy being in control of YOUR weekend and NOT have to go outside in this awful rain to get wet while shielding your fag from the elements ...crazy when you think what lengths we went to to smoke , and we thought it was making us feel better :o

JD, I feel really good again! I didn't even think about smoking today and when I made myself think about it, I didn't feel the same way, I felt sick at the thought of it

Well I slipped :( Fell of the wagon yesterday lunch time, why? I'm not really sure, as I mentioned before I had high expectations about giving up smoking, I thought I was gonna have more energy, I was gonna feel different but the reality was I never felt any different being a non smoker than a smoker, and I think thats what ultimately tripped me up,

So I think this time I am going in with the attitude of this is it, this is all there is and not going to expect anything to happen.

    Hope this makes sense
  • hey slugger bad times but try not to feel too bad about it. I guess when you get the urge next week then just push through it & don't smoke, and then the temptation will reduce over time.

I don't think initially you feel anything other than it being a struggle but I do now feel that things seem brighter for me so it will come. I feel like I'm being more productive - because I have more time on my hands! - and also I feel happier now, I think I laugh more - I'm not sure why that is but I think its true. Stick with it and you will feel better. I think what ppl mean is they feel better because they don't need to puff away and that in itself is a bit of a buzz.

Also the energy thing, are you exercising? that it is way of increasing energy levels. Also the weather is gonna change soon and we will all benefit from an increase in energy levels!
