Smoking made me selfish, I have just had another LBM
I used to avoid family get togethers that could possibly last longer than a few hours because I was a secret smoker. I have been missing out on so much because I preferred to be in situations where I could have a fag when I wanted.
I feel free, I don't have to hide anything, spray the house furiously or douse myself in perfume to try and disguise the smell. There really are so many benefits to stopping smoking, thanks to all of you who have kept me going xxxDebt Bust LBM 01/01/2013 - [STRIKE]£11,115.28[/STRIKE] £10,593.81

I agree Lucy, what a lovely, true post.
Isn't it brilliant to be able to go anywhere without worrying about smelling of stale smoke and isn't it horrible when you smell it on someone and think OMG that's how we all smelt..(without being hypocritical there..;)) I never use to want to go round to see my non-smoking friends for a get together and if I did I didn't want to stay too long. I love the fact I go to work smelling 'normal' and not worry about speaking to people face to face or like you say spraying myself 'thinking' it will hide the smell, which I now know doesn't, as the smokers I work with 'spray'n'mint' themselves and I can still smell it on them..even those that have said they have given up or have only a couple a day in the evening..Mmm funny how I can smell the previous nights ciggies on them??
Thanks for a lovely post :T

Champix 3 weeks, 4 days, 23 hours and 26 minutes smoke free
hi all
Been catching up with posts & looks like it's going well! :T
Everything fine with me... had my moments when I felt stressed and would have gladly had a cigarette - but didn't. That feels good
Keep it up everyone... I/you/we are doing great :j0 -
Morning all you lovely non fag smelling people
Just back from the docs with a supply of Champix, ive just taken my 1st tab, quit date is next wednesday, which seems such a long way away...
Im feeling desperate to quit, my brother (46) had a massive stroke last weds, for the few days following were told we were likely to lose him, but he's picked up a great deal the doctors are amazed at how well he's coming on, but we dont know the long term damage yet. For now he can move both his legs and left arm, and is able to blink and squeeze your hand to communicate, but thats it...so far.
The stroke is almost certainly down to the fact he was an heavy smoker.
I have tried so many times in the past to quit and failed, ive heard good things about champix and its about the only thing i haven't tried before, i feel so ready to ditch the fags, im countdown to my quit date like a kid counts down the days to christmas.Everyday im shufflin' Proud Padder ~ All Hail The Power of Pad0 -
