I'm still knocking around, just been a bit busy of late. But not smoking ;)

To any lurkers out there or as folks said, anyone struggling, don't forget to shout up. There are loads of great people on here who've been there and done it, sometimes a few times over <hangs head in shame>

Hope all is well in the non nicotiney world we have :)

Hi DD, I reckon those that can do it are ok, as JD said, and possibly those for whom the time isn't quite right, have long gone, but all being well, they'll be back! ;)

I know, Sue............I saw a post by someone on another thread and that's what sparked my comment.

The absolute truth though nonetheless, Tricia.Doesn't that ever feel good when you first say it too!!! :T:T

mysmilie_61.gifTricia! I really DID laugh out loud when I read your post. I'm sure I said it at the time, but anyone who decides to stop smoking a week before Christmas must surely be totally serious about doing so! Anyone less so would've said: 'I'll just get Christmas/New Year out the way first and then............'

All the best, Sally and the little treasure....... Mummy gave up smoking for. Welcome to the world, little one.

    Sue x

WEll t'is a year today since I last smoked almost to the exact time.
I truly cannot believe that I have not had a smoke since last Valentine's day 9.30pm.
It was hard at first and without all you on here I couldn't have done it. But I have & I am so pleased I did.
Best Valentine's present you can give yourself.
I haven't managed to physically save the money but I would have spent £2 short of £3,000 on fags this past year - wow.
All the very best to everyone - if I can do it you all can.

    Hello everyone,

Just checking in. Lovely to see so many 'new' quitters! Great to read such fab stats..............can't help wishing that those who do struggle would post more though.

Had one of those horrible dreams last night where I was smoking. It felt soooooo real  Boy was I glad when I woke up and realised I HAD NOT been smoking :D

    Keep thinking about Sally.................

I keep having these dreams and wake up really cross with myself, then realise I don't really smoke.
I am now officially a non-smoker, nobody has asked me how the giving up smoking is going for over a week.
Started on a diet last monday, can't remember the last time I dieted without the use of extra cigs, but its gone really well.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Well done on both the non-smoking and the dieting too!

Over 3 months now............I bet you have faced loads of situations where you'd normally have been gasping for a cig and have managed perfectly well without. It's the mental craving that's much more difficult to conquer than the physical one!

That is so true, it is amazing how many links, anchors or whatever you want to call them are linked to smoking, I realised after stopping, my life before had been ruled by it. Its so great to be free.

    Hi everyone

not posted for a while, been quite busy but have tried to read most days. I feel like I now have more energy finally, it seems to have taken a while, but I had been smoking for 28 years so plenty of badness to get out of my body.

Been shopping today and have bought running shoes & some kit so am going to start the couch potato to 5k programme and see how I go. The cravings are definately disappearing, don't even think
    about smoking.

Well done to everyone else, will try and post more often. Take care.
