Apart from the 2 cigs I smoked when very drunk a few weeks back it's been smoke free. Think I am over the urge even when drunk now.
Yay !!0 -
Morning all 2weeks 10 hours no fags cold turkey,
Patches for 7 days and cold turkey since
Have to say its going well still have been picking loads but i know i can sort that out in the next week or so as i will be getting back on my bike for work.
my sleeping has improved a bit not much but i have to say my skin is very bad spots like i have never had before on my face and very itching but i guess that is my body getting used to no ciggies.
Will pop in again soon hope everyone is doing well x0 -

Been shopping today and have bought running shoes & some kit so am going to start the couch potato to 5k programme and see how I go. The cravings are definately disappearing, don't even think
about smoking.
I'm still in the thinking phase for C-2-5K, I made the first move and downloaded the podcasts and need to sort my feet out with something suitable to wear. I'll wait for the weather to cool down a bit as it's far too warm to be running anywhere at the moment.
Just for the record I weighed myself tonight, even though I should have done this four weeks back, it wasn't too shabby at 10 stone exactly. I'm not too fussed about my weight but would prefer I stay under 10.5 stones.
It wouldn't be too cheeky of me to claim my One Month title at 30 Days, 11 hours, 33 minutes and 45 seconds, would it? :TMortgage

No, no, no ladies!
I know absolutely NOTHING, honest! Even if I had done, I certainly wouldn't 'announce' it in such a cruel way, I'd have been totally up front and say she'd passed on the news. I'm purely going by the fact that Sally said if she wasn't here for a few days we should assume that her little bundle of joy would have been born. I'm making assumptions, though I shouldn't,
but as much as anything else I was gently trying to push her away from thinking thoughts of evil little white things that do plenty BIG damage!
I do hope all is well though and that IF the baby has been born, we'll soon know about it. Both mine were 2 weeks late, my GChildren too. I couldn't wait for them and I can't wait for Sally's either!!! :j
Excellent, Nym!!! I'll bet this time will be the last time you'll need to stop though - right??!Many congratulations!!!! :T:T:T
Very many congratulations, choille!!!! :T:T:T Getting to that FIRST COMPLETE YEAR meant everything to me, so I'm pretty sure I can guess just how you're feeling today - and so you should as YOU'VE QUIT SMOKING!!!!! :jYou've been through that year's full circle of all seasons and events and it absolutely TERRIFIC!!!! I know you found it hard for a good while, but you got there, and at a time when several others fell away from it - but you stayed firm and accomplished your dream!!! I could not be more delighted for you!!! What a gift indeed, but not just for Valentine's - for LIFE!! :heartsmil
Brilliant news, Jenny, not on the dreams, but on now being a non-smoker!! :T :THow soon folk forget; or become accustomed to us being into their world (if they're no smokers) or gone from theirs if they're smokers. Never mind there are folk here who remember and are thrilled for you success. I used to hate those blasted dreams, but what a relief on waking up, I wonder if it's our bodies way of helping us not to become complacent...who knows. All the very best with the diet and dropping some weight!
Very well done, topsyturphy, roughly about 5 weeks FREE then and marvellous work!!!! I'm so pleased you now don't think of them, quite a stage to get to - congratulations!!!! :T:T All the best with the running, it'll do your lungs good too!
Congratulations to you too, Mat!!! :T:T You've come a long way and are doing so very, very well. A lot saved and a great deal achieved too. Just be aware of becoming too drunk and not having your wits about you!
mmikailian, that is just great!!!:T:T VERY well done on saying cheerio to the patches and getting free from nicotine! Your body will now be completely free from the evil stuff - brilliant!!! You're right with your thoughts on the spots, your body's way of getting rid of it all, so not really a bad thing. Well done...keep it going!!
Congratulations on being free for One Month, Kiwi!!!! :T:TWho's counting where hours are concerned. You've done really, really well.
What great posts on here, everyone, if these don't inspire those lurking to "give it a go" then I don't think there's much that will..still, they're possibly just waiting for that right moment when they feel they too CAN do it. All the very best everyone, keep up the fantastic work!

WEll t'is a year today since I last smoked almost to the exact time.
I truly cannot believe that I have not had a smoke since last Valentine's day 9.30pm.
It was hard at first and without all you on here I couldn't have done it. But I have & I am so pleased I did.
Best Valentine's present you can give yourself.
I haven't managed to physically save the money but I would have spent £2 short of £3,000 on fags this past year - wow.
All the very best to everyone - if I can do it you all can.
So good to hear from you, choille, and well done:j I remember how hard it was for you (all of us) at the beginning ... and all that terrible weather this time last year. How is the house coming along ... and the sheep?
This time last year, I was sitting here at my laptop wondering if the constant thoughts about smoking would ever go away .... they did!
So much to celebrate :j:j:jI am a non-smoker :j last cigarette 10th February 20100 -
Many thanks Sue - you're such a star & Old Reekie - not so Reekie now eh?
How are you - we are still in the caravan. That has been another awful Winter & hopefully the last one in here. Sheep are good.
I'm so glad that this thread existed - what a great support. I've put on weight - especially after Winter idleness. Hope it warms up a bit & I can get outdoors a bit more.0 -

If there is one thing that would have got me smoking again was the weight gain but I lost it again during the summer ..... and then put it on again this winter. So, project 2011 is to lose the jelly belly. It isn't that bad; just tight waistbands but rather that than more lost teeth.
The worst part of 2010 was the restorative surgery on my gums for peridontal disease. 4 sessions i.e. one quarter of my mouth every few months.
If anyone out there is really struggling with stopping smoking just drop me a line and I will describe, in great detail, just what the surgery involvedI am a non-smoker :j last cigarette 10th February 20100 -
Champix - Day 12
Hi All
I'm still here... just haven't had a chance to post due to that darned essay (which I hand in tomorrow - hooray and fingers x'd!)
It's really funny, had 5 cigarettes on Saturday (all put out about half way through) had 3 cigarettes on Sunday (all put out after a few 'puffs' - didn't really want them, I don't think, but 2 of them were probably more psychological as I always have 'had' 1 cig in morning with cuppa on patio and 1 cig before bed with cuppa on patio) Don't want to smoke - didn't think about it all day yesterday or today. Amazing!
Have stopped before for 7 months and can honestly say that for about the first 3-4 weeks that smoking was all I could think and dream about!
Anyway, had none since then. Got none in the house and my family don't smoke so I'm very, very, very SURE that I will continue to stay stopped for good this time.
Off to the doc's on Friday to see nurse and have my puffer test - will let you all know how I do.
Had a quick catch op on the thread and WELL DONE to everyone x0
