Hey guys - how do you work out all your stats? Do you take an average amount smoked per day and calculate or is there something that will calculate it for you (as you are all down to the penny)

    http://www.silkquit.org/stop-smoking/Default.aspx

you put in stop date and time , quantity smoked, cost and it keeps a running total for you

Congratulations Kiwisaver!!!!!! :T:T That is almost incredible after the way you were feeling little more than a week or so ago. How quickly things can turn around. I admire you for sticking so firmly after having felt so yuk. You're quite an inspiration - and just look at those stats!!!! :j

Keep at it, rubytwilight, 4 days is great and, even though you're feeling so tired, you sound determined to stop! :D 11pm isn't that bad, but you will feel better soon, early days as you say. I was pleased to read this bit <<" think I'll go for a walk to get some fresh air">> I hope you enjoyed it, even if it was raining like it is here, it will have done you good and put fresh air in your lungs! ;)

It sounds as though things are going ok for you too, **Kat** , no doubt the silkquit thingy will inspire you on.

I can only think that by her absence, young Sally must be having or have had her little sweetheart, I do hope so.

Well done everyone, I'm hoping from the quietness that you're all really enjoying your weekend - smoke-free!

I feel I should tiptoe and whisper!:silenced: Perhaps they'll be back tomorrow?

    Creeps out, very quietly.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?
  • Hello everyone,

Just checking in. Lovely to see so many 'new' quitters! Great to read such fab stats..............can't help wishing that those who do struggle would post more though.

Had one of those horrible dreams last night where I was smoking. It felt soooooo real  Boy was I glad when I woke up and realised I HAD NOT been smoking :D

    Keep thinking about Sally.................

That is fantastic, are you treating yourself?

its amazing how much money goes on cigarettes , how you feeling physically?

i am shattered and had to go to bed at 11pm fit to drop! early days for me but happy to be on day four, 83 cigs not smoked.

think i'll go for a walk to get some fresh air

Hi Ruby hope the walk helped.

I made a bit of a faux pas there I should have changed the £ sign to $, so I have only 'saved; half of what I said if converting to pounds. The least said about treating myself the better, as I have gone a tad overboard and so far I'm a fair bit down and spent more on treats than I would have on cigs. Not my fault we're coming to the end of summer and shops have sandals on sale, so I bought two pairs last week.

I am however trying to make my treats things that are ultimately good for me, such as better or more interesting food stuff, as I nurse myself through these early weeks. It's fair to say we usually live on a fairly tight budget with not much wiggle room for the nicer, non-essential or exotic things, so for example today I bought myself a mango. It's something I wouldn't normally have and it will be better for me than a bar of chocolate.

Physically I am feeling fine and not half as tired as I was the first couple of weeks. I almost feel I am back to my normal self, apart from constant bloating in my belly, :(

Well done, Kat :T:T That's so nearly your first week over with. Don't do what I did - I very nearly fell the length of the stairs rushing to see my meter click over the first week :rotfl::rotfl:

Someone offered me a cig yesterday and I said "No thanks, I stopped smoking last year." (I didn't say "on the 19th December") :D

Keep going, everybody. I promise you it does get easier.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?
  • Love that last year :D true though.

Today I haven't yet craved. I can talk about it etc and NOTHING :). I have spoken to my dr over the phone and she is prescribing my patches but will have to have follow ups with the nurse (which is fine, even more incentive to not cheat as I have been a bit guilty of that so far in having a "few puffs" of someone else's :o ps the last time which was yesterday made me feel physically sick so happy days)

One of the girls in work says she gives me 2 weeks before I'm back on them so I will prove her so totally and utterly wrong she has to eat her words.

I am sorry I am reporting cheats but then you can all kick me up the a*** and I won't do it again.

You've hit the nail square on the head, JD, that's exactly what they're doing. It always happens around this time of year when folk realise they CAN now do it. Good luck to 'em! You 'n all JD with all the time you've done without for, good for you! :T:T

Hi DD, I reckon those that can do it are ok, as JD said, and possibly those for whom the time isn't quite right, have long gone, but all being well, they'll be back! ;)

Bad luck, Kiwi, though none of us realised your mistake. I wouldn't worry too much about the treats, after all, this is a terrific time, enjoy it, but be careful. :)

The absolute truth though nonetheless, Tricia.Doesn't that ever feel good when you first say it too!!! :T:T

Even more incentive, if it were needed then Kat! :j

DH & I were in town today and got helped at Maplin's with advice on what's best to buy for putting camcorder film onto DVD via PC. Such a great help and just 2 days into stopping!!! :T I've directed him to us if he finds he could do with help, but I do believe that he'll see it through....it's the steely determination that I'm sure he's got!! All the very best Dave! :)

All the best, Sally and the little treasure....... Mummy gave up smoking for. Welcome to the world, little one.
